I've never done this before and I have to brag about it



This is the first time I have ever been a co-host for a political event. It will probably be the last time. John Bauman is Bowzer of Sha-Na-Na. I'm not asking for a donation. I just had to brag.

Well, it is more significant than being able to say that I once met Barry McGuire while crossing a church parking lot. The concert was really great, just McGuire and his acoustic guitar.

Looked him up a few years ago for a trivia-related reason, and yes Jon Bauman is still kicking.

That dude hasn't been relevant for at least 40 years. Was going to joke that I guess Artie Johnson, Charles Nelson Reilly, and Fannie Flagg were unavailable so they settled for Bowzer.

The Amount of Democratic Ads being run for congressmen and Senators here locally would have you think there are no Republicans running for office. Then add to that the ads that say that voting for Cavanaugh will give the Governor a reason to expand the MAGA base is going to create havoc for the Dems is getting to be to mush to bear. It's been very cutthroat in the Nebraska races on the Left.

Remember Cissy from "Family Affair"? I kissed her in 2004 and again tonight PIX

And actress Kathy Garver who portrayed young Rachel in the film. She is the last known actress to have a speaking part under the direction of Cecil B DeMille.

Kathy Garver is best know as Cissy on "Family Affair".

Marta and I met Kathy in 2004. (http://www.steveandmarta.com/tzcon2004.htm) She was so happy with something I said, I got a kiss. It happened so fast we didn't get a photo. We recreated the kiss tonight. A local actor that played Moses for the attendees to our left. He owns the most successful "Haunted House" in the Omaha area each October.

Apparently Marta didn't want to talk about the kiss back then: Next we went on to Kathy Garver, who still looks like Cissy on "Family Affair." She had done some TZ episodes on radio, and had them for sale; we purchased her performance on "The Fever." She signed a cast photo from FA for us as well, and Steve was quite happy.

"Family Affair" ... the adult stars were Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot. One bit I remember was Brian Keith;s bachelor uncle character was dating a Chinese woman who was going to bring her mother to dinner. He tried to learn some compliments in Chinese, and when he greeted her, his mispronunciations changed the words into insults, which had him utterly confused by the mother's reaction. As a kid, I found that pretty amusing, and  in IRL, changes of inflection or tones can change the intended word into something different. I thought Sebastian Cabot, the family's butler, was cool.

Celebrity chasing, I don't relate to, an many Hollyweirders have made themselves obnoxious to me. There is wisdom in, "Shut up and sing," and, "Shut up and recite your script."

Election 2026: John Cavanaugh concedes Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District Democratic race

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - On election night, the Denise Powell camp was pretty sure of a District 2 congressional victory.

On the John Cavanaugh side, supporters held out hope that Powell’s lead wouldn’t hold up.

Cavanaugh’s concession comes two days after NBC News and The Associated Press called the race for Powell, who held a news conference Thursday morning to claim victory in the race and call on Democrats to move forward together.

Election night numbers ended with Powell showing a slim lead over Cavanaugh.

More ballots were counted and the results didn’t show much change. There are still numbers to be figured in Sarpy and Saunders counties, but officials say most likely Powell is the winner.

I guess Bowzer doesn't have that do-wop vibe needed to put Cavanaugh over the top, as Steve Dawes was hoping.

Hopefully they send Jon Bauman to campaign nationwide for Tala-Freako, Ossoff, and all the other nutjob lefties throughout the land.
