WASHINGTON — Chilling security footage released by President Trump shows the wild moment that a gunman attempted to rush past security at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The sicko, whom sources have identified as Cole Allen of Torrance, Calif., was shown in the blurry footage sprinting past multiple security officers, as agents drew their guns and pursued him.

The entrance to the Washington Hilton, which hosts the feted dinner, was subject to a loose check, where officials ensured attendees had tickets for the marquee dinner or a party beforehand.

Apparently this insecure entry check has been the norm for previous WHCDs. IOW, predictable and relatively well known. Also apparently, a Code Pinkster trying to crash the event got stopped by this entry check.

To enter the hotel’s ballroom, where the main course takes place, attendees must go through magnetometer screenings and security checks.

If I understand correctly, this was the only meaningful security screening. IOW, get past or bypass the ticket check and this was all that was between entrants and the ballroom.

The suspect, who is believed to have been a guest at the hotel, according to Interim DC police chief Jeffrey Carroll, was shown trying to blow past that beefed-up security perimeter.

Ultimately, agents on the scene were able to pin the suspect down after multiple shots rang out. The 31-year-old was found with two firearms and multiple knives.

I wonder if being a guest enabled the guy to bypass the ticket check. Yet again, some of the tightest anti-gun laws in the country failed to block a would-be killer.

Records indicate that Allen was a teacher and video game developer, having earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Allen also had a Masters degree from a CSU, which enabled him to become a school teacher. The idea that a man that hare-driven was a school teacher appalls me. He was a teacher in Torrance, a northern Orange County city just south of LA. IIRC, the city that borders Torrance on the east is Compton.

White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting suspect sent "manifesto" to family, who alerted police, source says

The White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting suspect wrote a "manifesto" which stated he wanted to specifically target administration officials, law enforcement and White House officials told CBS News.

Authorities also found anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on the suspect's social media accounts, the official said.

Cole Allen, 31, sent some of his writings to members of his family before the attempted attack on Saturday, and one of them alerted police about the writings. The writings sent to family members apparently did not specifically mention the White House Correspondents Dinner. In excerpts reviewed by CBS News, Allen wrote that he planned to target administration officials, "prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest," ...

Allen's family members also said he was part of a group called "The Wide Awakes" and attended a "No Kings" protest in California.

Sounds like even his family was concerned that he would go beyond street tantrums.

I wonder what stories his now-former students could tell, whether he ranted openly or they were totally blind-sided.

Cole Allen sent a “manifesto” to members of his family minutes before he launched his attack at the Washington Hilton. You can read it here, it isn’t long. Allen’s brother received a copy and turned it over to his local police department. I have two observations about the document.

First, it is entirely predictable. Allen recited the Democratic Party’s indictment of President Trump and his administration. This is how he described Trump:

I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.

Those characterizations are not only false but idiotic, and yet they are repeated every day by Democratic Party politicians and the Democrats’ official “news” outlets. Allen’s now-deleted social media accounts–he was on the radical BlueSky platform–were to the same effect. See the Free Beacon.

Second, Allen was contemptuous of the security he encountered on his journey across America, and especially at the Washington Hilton, where he checked in as a guest:

[W]hat the hell is the Secret Service doing? Sorry, gonna rant a bit here and drop the formal tone.

Like, I expected security cameras at every bend, bugged hotel rooms, armed agents every 10 feet, metal detectors out the wazoo.

What I got (who knows, maybe they’re pranking me!) is nothing.

No damn security.

Not in transport.

Not in the hotel.

Not in the event.

On Saturday night, a gunman opened fire in the Washington Hilton just as the White House Correspondents' Dinner was underway. A Secret Service agent was struck but protected by body armor. Thankfully, no attendees were reported injured. Secret Service agents quickly evacuated President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and House Speaker Mike Johnson to safety. The shooter was neutralized and detained. Before the smoke even cleared, the left was trying to push a politically convenient narrative.

Yup. This is what they’re running with. By their estimation, the Trump administration recruited some California leftist with a paper trail to stage a fake assassination attempt to boost his approval ratings and to use it as a pretext to justify the White House ballroom that is already being built.

I saw a classic CT-set-up comment in an FB post, along the lines of, "Do you believe the official story," about the Trump assassination attempt. The source had restrictions, so I didn't post my reply, but it was basically, "There were a couple thousand Trump-Haters at the dinner. Do believe none of them would scream if the 'official story' varied even slightly from what they witnessed?"
