Now: "... ICE personnel are responsible for the prompt & faithful executions of U.S. immigration laws."

For some reason, I am unable to highlight and copy it, but the sentence in question reads: "U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is committed to the safe, effective, and humane enforcement of the nation's immigration laws."

My emphasis. DU-folk being what they are, I don't think aggiesal has the chops to have created that meme-lie. (S)He probably saw it on FB or BlueSky or some other Prog-oriented site and got hoovered into the lie.

BTW, the Acting Director who issued this directive was Tae Johnson, an early January 2021 Trump appointee.

I am far from a genius, but in the 19 Replies on that DU thread so far, not one bothered to spend the necessary 20 or 30 seconds to find the text of ICE Directive 11064.3, which was my first reaction to the DU OP meme.

Not to be that guy, but you cited 11064.3 (July 14, 2022), the most recent directive is 11064.4 (July 2, 2025); and the word "humane" was removed.

My question is: So what?

"Humane" was being exploited to mean the least little inconvenience and hurt feeling in order to keep illegals in the US.
