I've been writing about this for so many years that I feel obligated to write about it now that this long story is finally coming to an end. Twelve years after the city of San Francisco decided to end the teaching of Algebra in 8th grade, which it specifically did for equity, the city will finally be able to offer it again in most middle schools next year.

Since San Francisco’s school district removed Algebra 1 from all public middle and K-8 schools in 2014, families have pushed for its return.

Starting next school year, the math course is set to be an option for all 8th graders again for the first time in more than a decade. But after two years of piloting different options for the course’s implementation, there’s still internal and external debate on exactly how Algebra 1 should be offered. Think of it as solving for x after it took twelve years to solve for y.

At 19 of its 21 middle and K-8 schools, the district plans to offer Algebra 1 as an additional elective course. All students would be automatically enrolled in Math 8 — the final class in SFUSD’s current K-8 math sequence — while some could also choose to take Algebra 1 if deemed academically eligible.

After 12 years of hobbling everybody instead of trying to help the slower improve, SF has finally decided to let those with the aptitude keep their own pace? How shocking, innovative!!!

Instead, here we are, with the TSA being weaponized by the Democrats to increase the pain on ordinary citizens, the TSA workers having to work for God knows how long without pay, and the airlines groaning under the weight of delays and cancellations.

Trump's temporary solution is to deploy ICE agents to the airports to help speed the security process, and it appears to be working, and working very quickly. Lines have gone from hours to under 1 hour, sometimes mere minutes.

A masked illegal alien approached a stranger in a public place and deliberately shot her in the head as she tried to run away. A Democrat politician then insanely claimed that the victim probably just startled the well-intentioned but armed illegal alien. And the victim’s family is understandably furious.

I think it is important to emphasize that Chicago has some of the worst gun control laws in the nation, thanks to Democrats. Gunshot murders occur every week in Chicago, because gun control simply takes firearms out of the hands of innocent and law-abiding citizens. So when you listen to and read Chicago Alderwoman Maria Hadden’s (D) comments, I want you to remember that her party aggressively cracks down on legal gun ownership, and yet she thought it was perfectly normal for a masked man at a beach to be toying with a loaded gun.

Hadden rambled in a now-viral clip, “From what police know, from — from speaking to the students who were with her, it seems she [Sheridan Gorman] might have …they were just out, you know, people go out to the beach all the time, right? And they go out on the pier, they walk around so that the kids were out doing normal, normal things people do in the neighborhood, and it sounds like this might have been a wrong place, wrong time situation, running into a person who had a gun.”

Thomaston Resident Pleads Guilty to Border Patrol Assault

PORTLAND, Maine: A Thomaston resident pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Portland to assaulting a U.S. Border Patrol agent engaged in his official duties.

According to court records, in August 2025, a United States Border Patrol agent responded to a one-vehicle crash in Washington, Maine. As law enforcement conducted a roadside investigation, Olivia Wilkins, 24, came upon the scene in an automobile and parked close to officers. Wilkins voiced concerns regarding Border Patrol’s presence in the area, but was permitted to move the vehicle further back from the crash to continue observing law enforcement. As the Border Patrol agent took an individual on scene into custody and began moving the individual to a nearby Border Patrol vehicle, Wilkins quickly accelerated toward the agent, who pulled the individual off the roadside away from the oncoming vehicle. Wilkins stopped the vehicle without striking either the agent or the individual in custody before swerving back into the lane of travel and fleeing the scene. Maine State Police troopers were able to arrest Wilkins a short distance away.

Wilkins faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release, and will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigative report by the U.S. Probation Office. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

A special counsel investigation that began in 2022 of Kash Patel, who is now the FBI director but was then a private citizen, included demands for more than two years of phone records, text messages and financial information, according to two grand jury subpoenas and nondisclosure orders viewed by Reuters.

The new documents viewed by Reuters show that the probe into Patel was more extensive than previously reported. In addition to phone, online user names, and text messages, Smith and his team sought mailing and email addresses, billing and IP addresses and bank account information, according to the documents.

The requests included records of calls and texts sent and received but not the contents of those phone calls or messages themselves, the documents show. They also included records of session times and the duration of calls, as well as subscriber information associated with Patel’s accounts.

One subpoena requested records from January 1, 2021 to November 23, 2023. The other was for the time period of October 1, 2020, through February 22, 2023.

Were Smith really investigating whether "President Donald Trump had interfered with the 2020 election", the subpoenas, if actually leagal, could reasonably span from November 2020 through maybe February 2021. Beyond early 2021 was a fishing expedition to learn what future plans Trump might have. BTW, IMO, it is very likely that Smith's shamvestigation was doing a similar fishing expedition into Susie Wiles's doings.

WASHINGTON, March 24 (Reuters) – Delta Air Lines said on Tuesday it would suspend special services for members of Congress, citing the impact of a partial government shutdown that has disrupted U.S. air travel.

“Due to the impact on resources from the longstanding government shutdown, Delta will temporarily suspend specialty services to members of Congress flying Delta. Next to safety, Delta’s no. 1 priority is taking care of our people and customers, which has become increasingly difficult in the current environment,” the Atlanta-based U.S. air carrier said in a statement.

Delta, like other U.S. airlines, typically provides special services for lawmakers who fly frequently back and forth from Washington and oversee the nation’s air travel system.

This should have been done, by all airlines, weeks ago. The Dems' weaponization of air travelers for partisan purposes should be turned against the Dems.

Loyola student newspaper apologizes for calling suspected murderer of Sheridan Gorman an illegal immigrant

The Loyola Phoenix, the student newspaper of Loyola University Chicago, has issued an editor’s note apologizing for an Instagram post calling the alleged killer of 18-year-old student Sheridan Gorman an "illegal immigrant."

"On March 23, a post on The Phoenix’s Instagram page carried the following headline: ‘Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved,’" the editor’s note, posted below a Sunday article about Gorman’s murder, read.

"That headline didn’t reflect the most important elements in the story, and it was taken down minutes later to prevent any further harm to affected community members," the editor’s note continued.

"Additionally, in the body of the original post, we described the man who was charged as an ‘illegal immigrant,’ using language provided by the Department of Homeland Security," it went on. "That language does not align with Associated Press style, nor does it align with the values of this newspaper."
