A DU Question & Facebook
« on: January 31, 2026, 07:10:18 PM »
This is kind of a two-in-one thing. As I was checking out info on this winter storm, it dawned on me that I don't remember seeing anything about the mindless lemmings at DU or their overlords blaming Orange Man Bad for the storm. If that's true, it would seem that they're dropping the ball.

Then, on Facebook I saw this "expert" on storms and...well...everything else who used to be a DU standout. I'm not sure, but maybe the former DU standout thinks it knows why Facebook is doing what it's doing in regards to obstructing ICE.

The second is just for informational purposes who may be interested in radios.

Oops, looks like the two photos got reversed. The first is the radio info and the second is the Facebook info.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

Not subject related, but in that facebook page when it was mentioned that a voter should have a national voter ID, the snarky factor peaked. I've seen that happen countless times. But, the reaction is always to attack the supporter. Never have I seen any attempt to defend their position. Early on they did try the popular "disenfranchisement" angle. But the black-vote before-and-after in Ga. destroyed that excuse, as have others afterwards. It turns out Blacks are capable of obtaining ID's without the liberals help.
The left used to try to twist their ideas as pro-American. But, that became impossible to sustain. So, when will they give up with the National pic ID's? Everyone is firmly on one side or the other. And everyone knows it is an effort to continue vote-fraud. But, I see the DU'ers continue to insist how Trump stole the election. Not once have I seen the slightest attempt at backing up that claim. I know it's rhetorical,  but how can a responsible adult hold a position that they can't explain? Not "won't, but "can't explain.
I don't know what took the rank and file dems to this place where logic and reason, and history doesn't matter. The swamp dwellers I understand. It's power. The children I can understand. It feels good. But, I'm lost on the self proclaimed "thinkers" on the left who, in reality, blindly do what they're told.
Do any of you remember the member "gator" (not fla gator) on CU who said things like "How can you be so godammed stupid" to leftys? I never thought his style helped our side, but I more and more understand where he's coming from.
Sorry, I'm just snowed in, bored, and pissed off.

Thankfully, we're not snowed in, but it's colder than my old joints like.

As for the ID issue, when the DemonRats really started screaming about how racist it was to require someone to show an ID to vote, I thought "well, maybe I'm wrong in my position" and decided to investigate and rethink things which is something the left NEVER does. The first thing I did was look into how many things in life require an ID. I was honestly surprised at how often we have to have proof of who we are (or how old we are). Once that I understood how prevalent that it was in life for even simple things, I decided that the only reason that DemonRats would fight so hard against it when it comes to something as important as voting is that NOT requiring IDs makes it easier for them to do nefarious things.
