Mamdani Restricts ‘Gifted’ Student Program Despite Parental Advocate Objections

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who received a pricey, private school education, is now looking to restrict a program for gifted and talented students that helps low income children from kindergarten onwards break the cycle of mediocre public education.

Commie Mamdani plans to eliminate the program at the kindergarten level and move the lowest grade entry for it up to third grade, the UK Daily Mail reported. This will prevent more than 2,000 students from accessing the special program at the earliest educational level. Parental advocacy group Defending Education, which previously helped win a legal case to keep the gifted and talented program in place, is condemning the move.

The UK outlet also stated that the program is often a chance for racial minorities "to excel" beyond what their parents might afford to pay for their education, making it even more ironic that woke Mamdani is restricting it. Naturally, Mamdani tried to pretend that his contraction of the gifted and talented program is inspired by the noble desire for equality, as he asserted he wants quality education for everyone. As leftists often do, he is hiding a downgrade of standards and elimination of a meritocratic program as "equality" when he really just means "all public school students should receive the same lousy education."

GATE programs are objects of hatred for many Progs, because the programs recognize that people are not intellectually homogeneous and foster/reward inequality.

House Ethics panel finds 'substantial evidence' that supports fraud charges against Florida Democrat

AHouse Ethics subcommittee on Thursday published a report that said it found "substantial evidence" that supported federal fraud charges against Florida Democratic Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick.

Cherfilus-McCormick was indicted by a grand jury in November for allegedly stealing $5 million from FEMA, laundering the proceeds, and using them to fund her 2021 congressional campaign. The lawmaker has denied any wrongdoing.

The House Ethics investigative subcommittee said it found evidence of alleged violations of campaign finance laws and regulations; criminal laws; the Ethics in Government Act; the Code of Ethics for Government Service; and House rules.

“The ISC’s investigation has revealed substantial evidence of conduct consistent with the allegations in the indictment, as well as more extensive misconduct as laid out in the following Statement of Facts in Support of Alleged Violations related to violations of federal laws and regulations, as well as ethical standards,” the committee's Statement of Facts reads.

Former Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell claimed in recent court filings that over two dozen Epstein accomplices were never brought to trial, including 25 men who allegedly made “secret settlements” with accusers.

Maxwell did not name the alleged accomplices or co-conspirators but said the other four people were mentioned in a non-prosecution agreement and the sex-trafficking indictment Epstein faced before he died and were never charged.

“New evidence reveals that there were 25 men with which the plaintiff lawyers reached secret settlements – that could equally be considered as co-conspirators,” Maxwell wrote, according to the New York Post. “If the jury had heard of the new evidence of the collusion between the plaintiff’s lawyers and the government to conceal evidence and the prosecutorial misconduct, they would not have convicted."

I take Maxwell's claim with a block of salt, but see it as worth investigating and exposing any slimeballs or criminals. Her claim could have DU-folk ing, as they want it to be true and believe Trump could be exposed as a pedophile.

The Trump administration is seeking to join a lawsuit filed in federal court alleging UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine illegally considers race in its admission process.

The administration filed the related documents Wednesday in California’s Central District, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The filing was made by the Trump Justice Department and alleges the school uses a “systemically racist approach” to admissions that privileges black and latino applicants over those who are white and Asian-American.

Agency lawyers also allege the school engages in “racial balancing," an attempt to create a student body that is racially reflective of California. In addition, they argued such an effort is in violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause and a 2023 Supreme Court decision that banned race-based affirmative action policies in college admissions.

I do not care if the doctors, nurses, and health technicians caring for me are white, east Asian, black, or chartreuse Venusian. I just want good competent medical care.

The most significant survival gains were in cases of advanced or fatal cancer.

Earlier detection, improved screening and treatments, and reductions in smoking prevalence have helped avert 4.8 million cancer deaths in the US between 1991 and 2023, giving 3,256,800 men and 1,555,300 women a new lease on life.

These findings, by researchers at the American Cancer Society (ACS), were recently published in Cancer Statistics 2026.

All right, I’ll get the disclosure part out of the way right at the start: this story involves my wife, Los Angeles County GOP Chair Roxanne Hoge.

She got a tip on Wednesday that up to one hundred LA Metro buses featuring ads for the Melania movie were being kept out of service for the weekend. Her post about the situation went viral, amassing over 100,000 views:

North Carolina grandfather accused of drugging ice cream indicted on new charges

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) - A former chair of a county elections board in eastern North Carolina was recently indicted on three new charges after allegedly drugging his granddaughter’s and her friend’s ice cream.

James Yokeley Jr. was additionally charged on Jan. 20 with intentional child abuse – serious physical injury and two counts of unlawful distribution of food or beverage.

Yokeley was arrested in August after reportedly flagging down an officer at a Sheetz gas station in Wilmington. Officers said that Yokeley told them his granddaughter and her friend found hard objects in their ice cream, which was ordered at the Dairy Queen on Oleander Drive.

According to WBTV sister station WECT, the pills tested positive for the psychedelic drug MDMA. The pills also reportedly tested positive for cocaine.
