Wait a Minute: Trump’s Hispanic Approval SURGES? Is MAGA Actually WINNING on Immigration?

So, forget about the truth. Forget about right and wrong! Winning elections in the 2020s is all about leveraging the news to activate votes. That’s how the PR game is played.
...
Instead, you cherry-pick news items to advance your party’s political objectives. Which is why everything you read in the media is a Frankenstein’s monster of reassembled body parts, carefully reconstructed to create whatever illusion furthers a very specific agenda.

Including the ICE fatalities of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

You’ve already heard the commentators: The public hates ICE! America is furious! Trump’s poll numbers are crashing!...
CNN’s reporting echoed Newsweek’s: Donald Trump’s Disapproval Rating Hits Record High
...
Other polls reported similar results, including one from this morning’s USA Today: President Trump’s Immigration Approval Drops to New Low, Poll Finds

CNN’s reporting echoed Newsweek’s: Donald Trump’s Disapproval Rating Hits Record High
...
Which is why this Newsweek story from a couple of days ago is so telling:

Newsweek: Donald Trump’s Approval Surges by Double-Digits With Hispanic Voters

Quote
The Emerson College poll released on Friday found that 43.3 percent of Hispanic or Latino voters approve of Trump, compared to 45.4 percent who disapprove of his job performance around one year into his second term in office.

In December, 57.9 percent of Hispanic and Latino voters disapproved of Trump’s job performance, while just 28.2 percent gave him positive marks at the time.

People who - or their (grand)parents - are LEGAL immigrants are unsympathetic to illegals? What a surprise ... NOT. BTW, my Dad's parents immigrated to the US legally.

California seeks taxes from family who moved to Florida

(The Center Square) – According to documents posted online by a family who formerly lived in California, the Golden State is trying to collect income taxes years after the family moved to Florida.

The documents, sent on Jan. 6, 2026, asked for receipts, invoices, canceled checks and other documentation showing that the family moved from California to Florida nearly four years ago. The California Franchise Tax Board, which sent the letter, also asked the family for a “narrative of the circumstances” surrounding the family’s move out of state.

Hari Raghavan, who with his wife, Mitali Gala, was the subject of the investigation by the California Franchise Tax Board, said he and Gala moved from California to Florida in 2021. They tried to sell the home they owned in California when they moved, but weren’t able to do so immediately, Raghavan told The Center Square.

“That spilled into 2022, but it was by no definition a primary residence anymore," Raghavan said about the California home. "We moved to Florida to establish residency in 2021.”

If the FTB and Rob Bonta try to pursue this after the couple provide proof they are not California residents, they may end up creating precedents they'll wish they had not.

Can We Get These Guys a Pulitzer?

https://pjmedia.com/athena-thorne/2026/01/27/can-we-get-these-guys-a-pulitzer-n4948785

Quote
What a disgrace the so-called mainstream media is, that it has done nothing but fan the flames of the insurrection currently burning white-hot in Minnesota. Never mind the fact that we are looking at a full-fledged, organized rebellion, which apparently includes massive fraud and money-laundering, state-level involvement, and international support. Never mind that U.S. federal assets are under attack and that the rebellion is getting people killed. No, no — the professional newsreaders want you to believe that a messy, chaotic, agent-involved shooting is a cold-blooded murder by Orangemanbad’s Gestapo. To hear them tell it, that’s the only story out of Minnesota.
...
At PJ Media's virtual offices, we gather around the Slack-chat water cooler to share information. When I checked in this morning, it was bubbling over with mind-blowing news. As I attempted to skim through the firehose of information, it occurred to me that there is an awe-inspiring cadre of extraordinary independent new-media investigative journalists blowing the lid off one of the biggest scandals of my lifetime, a story of historic importance.

Just for starters, there's Andy Ngo. He alone deserves a Pulitzer for his work over the years, tracking the organized anti-American forces that flare up periodically with refreshed branding to reflect the cause du jour. ...
...
PJ Media's Matt Margolis has a solid report on Walz and Co.'s legal peril as of now.

Nick Sortor is another courageous, patriotic front-line reporter:
...
Much like the Nobel Peace Prize, the Pulitzer is now a meaningless bit of leftist puffery, an excuse for propagandists to dress up and eat an elite meal together while patting themselves on the back.

Democrat-aligned well-paid “journalists” get their talking points from listservs and five-martini gossip sessions in cozy D.C. 5-star venues. Real journalists have to crowdfund while they place themselves in real danger, from both the hostile, violent mobs they cover and the corrupt local law enforcement that sides with the insurrectionists. The dinosaur media still pretends that moving flowerpots on the balcony and standing in a parking garage late at night were spine-tingling cloak-and-dagger acts of heroic journalism. New media journalists are often hospitalized and/or arrested for their trouble.

But no, these new journalists will not be awarded a Pulitzer Prize. Their work will go unacknowledged by the star-bellied media. And that's fine; no one takes those old awards seriously anymore, anyway. ...

Add to the list Nick Shirley, who exposed the phony tax-$$$-funded daycare centers, and Cam Higby, who infiltrated and exposed the Signal Chat used to stalk ICE agents and organize interference with ICE/CBP actions.

They are off the MSM--Journalism-school plantation, so they won't get any recognition beyond denigration and disrespect.

"No taxes with out representation", would this mean I get to vote in California elections.

Mexico Cancels Oil Shipment Bound for Cuba

https://havanatimes.org/news/mexico-cancels-oil-shipment-bound-for-cuba/

Quote
HAVANA TIMES — Pemex, the Mexican state oil company, has canceled an oil shipment to Cuba scheduled for this month, according to the US outlet Bloomberg. According to the report, released on Monday, the company had planned a shipment for mid-January on the Swift Galaxy, a Panama-flagged vessel, which was due to arrive to Cuba at the end of this month, but it disappeared from the schedule.

Bloomberg reports that it contacted the company and Mexico’s Secretariat of Energy, which did not immediately respond to its inquiry. Likewise, several Mexican media outlets, such as La Jornada and Sipse, have tried to contact Pemex with different results. The former was told “we have no information on the matter,” while the latter says it turned to experts after receiving no comment from the company. “Sources related to the energy sector indicate that the adjustment could be linked to factors such as crude availability, logistical planning, and international market conditions,” they note.

The decision became known almost two weeks after US President Donald Trump stated on social media: “there will be no more oil or money for Cuba: zero.” The message referred to how the regime had benefited from Venezuelan crude, helping ensure its survival, but it raised doubts about whether it applied only to products from PDVSA — now partly under US control — or if it extended to other countries.

Looks like Cuba's going to have more difficulty getting oil than just losing Venezuela's economic prop.
