The media spun a narrative that Destiny Jackson, a 32-year-old mother of six from Minneapolis, and her family were innocent bystanders when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deployed tear gas under their car.

She said her family pulled over because a road was blocked. They were supposedly trapped by escalating chaos and couldn’t drive away before the tear gas hit. She admitted that her husband left the vehicle, but said only to assess the situation. She also said she left to find her mother, who was attending the protest. New video footage, first reported by Crime Watch Mpls, shows Jackson and her husband, without their children, lingering at or near the protest site for at least 45 minutes. Jackson is heard engaging with protesters from the same livestream, saying, “We’re going to kill these motherf**kers,” reportedly saying this about ICE agents in response to a question about whether protesters had weapons or guns. Jackson later claimed that her comments were sarcastic and that she believes that “shooting and killing people is unacceptable.”

There's also a false claim circulating that a woman lost her hand due to it being hit nby a less-than-lethal projectile. What actually happened is that she picked up a flash-bang to toss it back at ICE/CBP/LEO and it went off in her hand. I'll have to nose around to find a link about this.

I wonder if there are any pictures out there of a close up of the hand.  You have these people biting off ICE agents fingers, sounds like what goes around, comes around.

Another thing I'm seeing in social media, but no mention of at the DUmp is that citizens are stopping people demanding to see their papers!  They want to know if they're media and if they are they want to know WHAT media outlet they work for.

On top of that they are pulling over cars they think ICE is in and demanding to see those people's papers to prove they aren't ICE.

Talk about hypocrisy!

They are actually detaining people who are just trying to go about their day until they prove who they are.

On top of that they are pulling over cars they think ICE is in and demanding to see those people's papers to prove they aren't ICE.

I saw the video right after it happened. I didn't know any of the details (like name and whatnot). Just that a Darwin Award nominee tried to win the award by picking up a live flashbang. I'm curious about the rolling part at the end. While I've never been stupid enough to let an explosive device go off in my hand, I've hurt my hand in various other ways. After the incident, I cradled it in my non-injured hand. Or stuck it between my legs. Or bent over in agony Or used all sorts of foul language. And did several other things depending on the situation. As far as I can remember, though, I've never thought to do the "stop, drop and roll" thing.

When I was in the National Guard many years ago , I saw one of our guys react to an ambush and he fell down to close to a Hand Grenade simulator and it went off. It nearly blinded him from the blast. Granted he might not have seen it land in the grass in front of him but from where we were standing, we could see it getting tossed right in front of where he was headed and he still went to the place where it landed. Also, he wasn't one of the smartest people we ever had in the unit. He was lucky he didn't lose his sight though.
