Luna Refers Walz and His AG to DOJ for Criminal Charges

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) not only had to step away from his reelection bid; he could face criminal conviction.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Flor.) announced on Jan. 7 that she was referring Walz and his attorney general, Keith Ellison, to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for criminal charges, citing evidence that they were complicit in covering up—and thereby allowing the continuation of—the Somali fraud. You can watch her statement to Congress below.

IIRC, Luna sometimes is in the impulsive--loose-cannon range, so I'm not sure how seriously this will be pursued, if at all.

Commie Mayor Declares War on ICE After 'Murder' Of Car Rammer

https://pjmedia.com/victoria-taft/2026/01/09/west-coast-messed-coast-seattles-commie-mayor-declares-war-on-ice-after-murder-of-car-rammer-n4948076

Quote
Welcome to your weekly West Coast, Messed Coast™ report where Seattle's new commie mayor declares war on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and, elsewhere along this long stretch of coastline, lefties wake up to realize that their assaults on ICE could have gotten them shot, too.

Follow ICE
Seattle's new communist mayor, Katie Wilson, announced on Thursday, the day after what she called the "murder" of a Minneapolis activist trained to obstruct ICE agents, that everyone should get on board obstructing ICE agents too. She has, in essence, declared war on the federal government's immigration police in the name of "solidarity."
...
In a video announcement Wilson acknowledged that there isn't much a "welcoming" city can legally do against ICE but that she'd huddling with the radical city attorney and local radical groups, such as the Tides Foundation's Indivisible (the people who brought you the Tesla "protests"), to come up with ways to stop the feds from enforcing immigration law.

More Prog insurrection.

Seventy Years After Jim Elliot, the Question Still Stands: Would We Go?

https://pjmedia.com/chris-queen/2026/01/09/seventy-years-after-jim-elliot-the-question-still-stands-would-we-go-n4948083

Quote
I didn’t see a post on Facebook about this anniversary until too late in the day on Thursday to write about it, but this week marks the 70th anniversary of the most famous Christian martyrdom of the 20th century. On Jan. 8, 1956, Waodani tribesmen murdered Jim Elliot and his fellow missionaries, Ed McCully, Roger Youderian, Pete Fleming, and their pilot, Nate Saint, in Ecuador.

Elliot grew up in Portland, Ore., as the son of a traveling preacher who settled down when he had a family. His family belonged to the nonconformist Plymouth Brethren, and he became a Christian at the age of six. He believed that Christians shouldn’t get involved in politics, and his high school public speaking club nearly kicked him out when he refused to give a political speech. He also planned to register as a conscientious objector if the military drafted him to serve in World War II.

He studied at Wheaton College, and somewhere along the way, he felt the call to missions. He specifically wanted to concentrate on people groups that had never seen a Bible translated into their own languages.

While studying the Quechua languages at Camp Wycliffe, Elliot heard about the Waodani people, whom the Quechua referred to as “Auca” (savages) in their native language. The Waodani were notoriously violent and hostile toward outsiders. It was just the challenge that Elliot felt compelled to meet.
Elliot and Fleming made their way to Ecuador in 1952 to work with the Quechua people. Elliot married Elisabeth Howard in 1953, and their only child, Valerie, was born in 1955. Shortly thereafter, Elliot and his team of missionaries set out to reach the Waodani.

The five men used Saint’s plane and a loudspeaker to announce their arrival and lowered gifts by basket. They set up a camp nearby and even took one Waodani tribe member for a plane ride.

Things turned sour when a group of about 10 warriors from the Waodani met the missionaries. The warriors murdered the five Americans on Jan. 8, 1956.

The article mentions it, partly, but Elizabeth Elliot continued missionary work in Ecuador (along with Nate Saint's sister (Rachel?)), among Qechua-speaking people for 2 or 3 decades. At the time of the killing of the missionaries, the Waodani had been dwindling due to a killings-and-revenge-killings spiral. The work started by the Elliots and the Saints brought that path to self-extinction to an end.

Texas hands over complete list of registered voters to Trump administration

Quote
Texas officials have turned over the state’s voter roll to the U.S. Justice Department, according to a spokesperson for the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, complying with the Trump administration’s demands for access to data on millions of voters across the country.

The Justice Department last fall began asking all 50 states for their voter rolls — massive lists containing significant identifying information on every registered voter in each state — and other election-related data. The Justice Department has said the effort is central to its mission of enforcing election law requiring states to regularly maintain voter lists by searching for and removing ineligible voters.

Alicia Pierce, a spokesperson for the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, told Votebeat and The Texas Tribune that the state had sent its voter roll, which includes information on the approximately 18.4 million voters registered in Texas, to the Justice Department on Dec. 23.

The state included identifiable information about voters, including dates of birth, driver’s license numbers and the last four digits of their Social Security numbers, Pierce said.

Experts and state officials around the country have raised concerns over the legality of the Justice Department’s effort to obtain states’ voter rolls and whether it could compromise voter privacy protections. The Justice Department has said it is entitled to the data under federal law, and withholding it interferes with its ability to exercise oversight and enforce federal election laws.

Mostly noteworthy because of stupid people's responses, like seen here. (Spoiler, lots of people think the voter registration data shows who you voted for, many are clueless to the fact that you don't have to register with a party to vote, claims of searching the roles for Mexican names to target for immigration raids, standard moonbattery)  How dare Texas send the Feds publicly available data to comply with federal law and work on making sure only living, eligible citizens are registered to vote?
Romans 6:17-18 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

... claims of searching the roles for Mexican names to target for immigration raids ...

I've never resided in Texas nor taken a Texas History course, but I know that, just like California, are are people with Hispanics living there whose ancestors were in the state when Texas (and California) were Spanish colonies and what is now the US was a collection of British colonies. Or whose ancestors came into the US legally. Or are themselves legal immigrants. Plus or minus a hypothetical few DEI/AA-hires, I'm sure that ICE and CBP people know this, too.

Sadly, the states most likely to have significant numbers of ineligible, multi-registered, moved out of state, and deceased voters on their rolls are the ones resisting providing the data.

Tom Homan Takes CBS News’ Tony Dokoupil To Task For Asking ‘Where’s The Heart’ In Mass Deportations

Tom Homan Takes CBS News’ Tony Dokoupil To Task For Asking ‘Where’s The Heart’ In Mass Deportations

Quote
During Dokoupil’s extended interview with Homan, the CBS News anchor quoted Trump from his October 2024 meeting with The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board, in which the then-candidate said “we have to have the heart” regarding mass deportations. When Dokoupil followed up, asking, “Where’s the heart in this?” Homan defended the policy and those enforcing it.

“[Immigration and Customs Enforcement] ICE doing everything they can to enforce the laws enacted by Congress,” Homan said. “ICE said the vast majority of everybody they arrest are public safety threats. They’re making this country safe.”

“I want people to remember this. ICE agents, Border patrol agents, are mothers and fathers, too. They don’t hang their heart on the hook every day they come to work. They got a tough job … Enforcing the law sometimes is sad,” he added. “But because of the actions of President Trump, thousands of lives are being saved every month. Ninety-six percent less people are coming because they know there’s consequences now, which means the most vulnerable people in the world aren’t giving the criminal cartels their life savings to make that dangerous journey.”

Homan asserted that sex trafficking had plunged and that the Trump administration had located more than 129,000 migrant children out of 300,000 that former President Joe Biden’s administration “lost track of and wasn’t even looking for.” He also pledged that the Trump administration would locate all of the missing children.

The sad reality of any incarceration of a person with family is that those family members are affected. Children lose a parent, a spouse loses a spouse, etc., etc.. The responsibility for those losses, however, is with the incarcerated criminal who chose to commit crime.

Fani Willis' failed lawfare against Trump might cost her a fortune

https://www.theblaze.com/news/fani-willis-failed-lawfare-against-trump-might-cost-her-a-fortune

Quote
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis did her apparent best to throw President Donald Trump in jail and failed miserably.

While Willis was disqualified in 2024 from the Georgia case regarding alleged 2020 election interference and the case was dropped late last year, the Democrat DA has proven unable to put the lawfare behind her.

In addition to having to fight misconduct allegations, Willis now faces the possibility of having to shell out millions to the president in attorney fees and costs, thanks to legislation ratified in May by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R).
...
The new law, which went into effect in July, provides "for the award of reasonable attorney's fees and costs in a criminal case to the defendant upon the disqualification of the prosecuting attorney for misconduct in connection with the case and the subsequent dismissal of the case by the court of a subsequent prosecutor."
...
Trump is pushing for over $6.2 million in restitution. As the president's legal team has reportedly already been paid, most of the requested funds would go to reimburse Trump.

Maybe she could get Lot-Lizard training from Creepy Porn Liar.

DHS Sec. Kristi Noem: If You ‘Lay a Finger on One of Our Officers’ We Will Find and Prosecute You

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/01/08/dhs-sec-kristi-noem-if-you-lay-finger-one-our-officers-we-will-find-prosecute-you/

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem held a press conference Thursday morning and warned that anyone who “lays a finger on one of our officers” will be caught and prosecuted.

The press conference was held to announce success in pursuing criminal elements in New York, but the comments broadened to include and foreshadow the work of DHS agents across the country.

Forbes posted Noem’s presser, in which she touted the work of DHS officers and agents around the country and said, “If you are a criminal illegal alien we are coming to get you, we will arrest you, we will bring justice and we will also bring safety to the American people.”
