His operatives, who conducted an 8-hour deposition of the honorable Jack Smith, coordinated the release of the transcripts and video of said deposition in the late afternoon of NEW YEAR'S EVE- deliberately timed so that it would get ZERO news coverage (except PBS), on its release OR the next day, which is a holiday.

AS BAD, the names of Trump’s co-conspirators who led the deposition (and even the Democrats' names) were unnecessarily REDACTED from the documents and video. The Republicans' clear priority is not to protect America, its elections, or its Constitution, but rather to protect themselves. Talk about "consciousness of guilt"!

With this, THE FELON and his co-conspirators just said a big “Happy New Year, **** YOU” to Americans who DESERVE THE TRUTH about what happened on January 6th, which Jack Smith went into detail about in that deposition.

ALL THIS WAS COORDINATED SPECIFICALLY TO ENSURE THE ENTIRE THING WOULD GO almost wholly ignored.
Add to that, Trump is busy DESTROYING the history, buildings, libraries of our government: Social Security buildings, NASA libraries, the national archives — SHITLOADS of American history from which he will either destroy all of it or specifically remove any mention of people of color, women, LGBTQ people who are part of that history, how those institutions were bettered by their contributions, and any mention of the destruction of our planet and its atmosphere, and any whiff of anything but WHITE MEN in all of it.

  I do not know how many times I've posted this on discussion sites, but pretty much every time I factcheck a claim that something got no news coverage, the claim is false. That said, I DDGed the super-duper sophisticated search term, "Jack Smith deposition":

* PBS did cover it;

* The Hill, CBS News, and NewSpeak posted/linked the transcript on 1/1/26;

* The NYT and USA Todaycovered aspects of Smith's deposition testimony on 12/31/25;

* NBC Skews, Mediait, and CNN covered the release of the transcript on 1/1/26 (and may have linked to it).

Unsurprisingly, CousinIT's claim is utterly and stupidly false. And not one of the 12 Replies said anything like, "I did a search and found ...". Also unsurprisingly.

Other than tearing down the 1942 office building that FDR attached to the White House, what in Hades is this about? I know the FBI will be moving at least some people out of the J. Edgar Hoover Building, but is CousinIT so ignorant that IT does not know the Hoover Building was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s? Andd that it is not being destroyed?

Have any Social Security buildings been destroyed? Are there Social Security building and not just leased office buildings? Regardless, Social Security started in the early 1930s, again, hardly historical.

What libraries has Trump destroyed? The LOC and National Archives are intact. Whatever data and documents NASA has archived or holds are untouched?

Jack Smith just torched what was left of his own January 6 investigation. The former special counsel sat down for an over eight-hour deposition with the House Judiciary Committee on December 17, 2025, and when the transcript was released to the public on Wednesday, it contained a stunning admission. It turns out that the former special counsel admitted under oath that Cassidy Hutchinson, the committee's star witness, relied on secondhand hearsay instead of firsthand evidence when she testified about Trump's conduct after the 2020 election.

Smith said if he were acting as a defense attorney and Hutchinson were called as a witness, "the first thing" he would do would be to seek to exclude portions of her testimony.

"If I were a defense attorney and Ms. Hutchinson were a witness, the first thing I would do was seek to preclude some of her testimony because it was hearsay, and I don’t have the full range of her testimony in front of me right now, but I do remember that that was a decent part of it," Smith admitted.

Smith was also asked about specific claims Hutchinson had made, including that Trump was aware that some of his supporters would be armed at his rally and that Trump attempted to grab the steering wheel of his driver out of anger.

Hutchinson "was a second or even thirdhand witness," Smith said, adding that other witnesses gave "different perspectives" than her.

"We interviewed, I think, the people she talked to, and we also interviewed, if my recollection is correct, officers who were there, including the officer who was in the car," Smith said. "And that officer, if my recollection is correct, and I want to make sure I’m right about this, said that President Trump was very angry and wanted to go to the Capitol, but the version of events that he explained was not the same as what Cassidy Hutchinson said she heard from somebody secondhand."

As for the names of those who asked questions being redacted, which also has DU-folk POed, who cares? Do Dems and Prods want to Dox and harass them?

React to good economic news by getting angry and resentful.
