In 2026 the FIFA World Cup Soccer arrives in the USA. That will be the time when native born Americans PRETEND (if they are polite) to be interested in Soccer or what the rest of the world calls Football. Watching these Brits suffering extreme meltdowns over absurdly (and typically) low scoring soccer games is amusing to watch. It has convinced me that growing up watching either American football vs soccer somehow wires your brain differently. The way soccer flows with its absurdly low scores just does NOT appeal to Americans who expect higher scores in a game that flows entirely different from soccer.

So if you attend any of the FIFA World Cup venues in the USA you can be sure those in the stands surrounding you who are going BERSERK during the soccer games are either visitors from abroad or Americans who have originally immigrated here from the outer soccer loving world. Most native born Americans just can't get very emotional over soccer. That's just the way we are wired.

My wife and I attended several soccer games during the 1984 Olympics, at Stanford Stadium. The 1984 Olympic Committee wisely chose to use many existing athletic facilities and to spread individual games up and down the western US. This saved loads of $$$$$$$, made games accessible to many more people than if everything were in the LA area, and lessened the impact on traffic in the Land of LA.

Anyway, the games we attended were all low scoring. At least one was 1-0. There were some crazy-enthusiastic fans, and they were from Brazil (those fans were a lot more fun than watching dudes backing-and-forthing for however the game was!).

So far, FIFA's only :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright: I've heard of was scheduling a match between two Islamic countries in Seattle at the same time there will be some sort of Pride celebration. The two countries are less than happy about this. Brilliant!
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.
