By now, we should all be trained to expect that any story that elicits outrage on racial, ethnic, or ideological grounds that gets published in Pravda Media is a hoax.

Unfortunately, the hoaxes still work on a lot of people, because they are so sensitized by that same media complex to be outraged that they read the headlines alone and get furious. Their reasoning circuits and desire to understand the world as it really is have been short-circuited.

It's a compelling story. Or it would be if it were true.

Newsweek blasted out a headline implying the Trump administration “quietly removed a memorial” for Black WWII soldiers.

But — shocker — when you scroll all the way down, buried under piles of narrative-fluff, they finally admit the truth:

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 “𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥.”

𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩.

That’s it. That’s the scandal.

Jeep asks PHEV owners to not charge due to fire risk

Stellantis is recalling 20,753 of its Jeep models in Canada, as well as another 320,065 in the U.S. The recall only affects certain vehicles from the brand, specifically the 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV) trims of the 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2025 Grand Cherokee, as the issue involves a high-voltage battery that can cause a fire.

According to the recall report on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) site, the affected SUVs “may have been built with a high voltage (‘HV’) battery pack manufactured with cells which may be susceptible to separator damage.” The report notes that the separator damage combined with other cell interactions can cause the fire whether the vehicle is parked with the ignition off, or running. The driver will not be warned prior to this happening, but Stellantis says there is less of a risk when the PHEV’s battery is depleted.

This is not the first recall for this issue. In 2023, the company recalled 3,856 Wranglers in Canada from the 2021 to 2023 model year, then another 14,038 in 2024 that included the 2024 Wrangler and the 2022 and 2023 Grand Cherokee. Transport Canada notes the previous repairs done in either of the recalls may not be effective and therefore, a second, or third, repair may need to be done.

Hamas in Rafah: Hell No, We Won't Go

So much for the ceasefire? Not quite, but Hamas remains determined to stretch it every way they can with as much Hamas Hokey Pokey as Western leaders will allow -- and then to abandon peace altogether.

At issue in this moment: members of the Al-Qassem Brigade holed up in Rafah. According to the terms of the cease-fire, these units are required to disarm to the Israelis and relinquish control of Gaza in Phase 2. Hamas declared that the Rafah units will not disarm or surrender to the Israelis, but might surrender to the Egyptians, in exchange for data on their tunnel infrastructure in the area:

Hamas wants more civilian buildings flattened and more Hamas members to assume sand temperature. Israel may find Hamas's offer acceptable and the New Sheriff in DC may find Hamas's bad faith, ummmm, unacceptable.
