Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins reported yesterday that earlier this year, "we told every state to send us their SNAP data so we could make sure illegal immigrants aren’t getting benefits meant for American families. 29 states stepped up. 21 blue states refused — and two SUED US FOR ASKING!"That's because we're spending billions on benefits to illegal aliens. My guess is that the Center for Immigration Studies — which bills itself as "low-immigrant" yet "pro-immigration" — was being a bit ironic with this headline: Illegal Immigrants To Be Hit Hard As SNAP and WIC Benefits Expire.The organization's 2023 analysis of government data showed that "households headed by illegal immigrants make extensive use of the welfare system, particularly food assistance programs." CIS estimated that 59% of households headed up by an illegal are on one or more welfare programs, whether it's cash, food assistance, Medicaid, or housing.Read that again. We're giving cash, food, healthcare, and housing to people who aren't even supposed to be here.Millions of them, in fact. Even though I could have sworn that Democrats insisted up and down that sort of thing never happened. No wonder 21 blue states didn't want Rollins looking at their books.
More than 7,200 semi-truck drivers have been taken off United States highways since Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy implemented new English language proficiency standards in May.“[DOT] requires commercial truck drivers to speak and understand English to operate a big rig- or they will be taken out of service,” Duffy wrote on X. “This is about [President Trump] and his administration making America’s roads SAFE again!”According to Duffy, almost 7,250 truck drivers have been placed out of service for failing the Trump administration’s English language proficiency standards that the Obama administration had gutted — making way for foreign truckers with no understanding of English to drive dangerous semi-trucks on American highways.
U.S. Olympic fencer Margherita Guzzi Vincenti, as well as competitive women’s fencers Emma Griffin and Patricia Hughes, filed a class-action lawsuit against USA Fencing over the organization allegedly allowing males to compete in women’s divisions, despite advertising the events as “female only.” The lawsuit pertains to an alleged incident at the 2025 North American Cup (NAC) in January in Kansas City, Missouri, and includes competitions involving athletes under 18 years old, Fox News first reported.“Because Defendant USFA’s youth and cadet policy authorized self-identification ‘without restriction’ and lacked any verification mechanism, biological males under 16 were permitted, and could have been expected, to compete in the women’s event,” the lawsuit alleges. “Defendant USFA also does not disclose to members or participants whether transgender or non-binary athletes are entered in a given event, leaving female athletes and parents unable to make informed participation decisions,” the complaint continues.
WACO, Texas (KWTX/Gray News) - Texas judges who decline to perform gay marriages based on their religious beliefs won’t be subject to sanctions governing judicial impartiality.The Texas Supreme Court recently shared that ruling and added it as a comment to the state’s Code of Judicial Conduct.The high court added, “It is not a violation of these canons for a judge to publicly refrain from performing a wedding ceremony based upon a sincerely held religious belief.”...McLennan County Justice of the Peace Dianne Hensley was sanctioned by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct in 2019 for declining to officiate at gay marriage ceremonies.The commission said her actions cast doubt on her capacity to act impartially for persons appearing before her because of sexual orientation....The commission withdrew its sanction against Hensley after adverse appellate court rulings.
BOSTON (AP) — A Harvard Medical School building has reopened while a “very active” investigation continues into a weekend explosion that authorities said was intentionally set off.An officer who responded to a fire alarm early Saturday morning encountered two people running from the Goldenson Building, according to university police. The explosion occurred on the fourth floor of the building, which houses labs and offices associated with the medical school’s Department of Neurobiology.

U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., filed a resolution to reverse a Biden administration plan to kill nearly half a million North American Barred Owls in the Pacific Northwest.The two-page resolution provides for congressional disapproval of a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rule that proposes killing roughly 453,000 Barred Owls in Washington, Oregon and California. The resolution, if passed, states the rule “shall have no force or effect.”...At issue is a Biden administration FWS “Barred Owl Management Strategy” to “address the threat of the non-native and invasive barred owl to native northern and California spotted owls.” The Barred Owl’s habitat is located in the eastern half of the United States, Pacific Northwest and parts of Canada.
Federal Judge Rules Trump Cannot Enforce Voter Registration Proof-Of-Citizenship OrderA federal judge struck down President Donald Trump’s attempt to require proof of citizenship for voter registration Friday, ruling the president overstepped his constitutional authority.U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in Washington permanently blocked the citizenship documentation requirement from Trump’s March 25 executive order on federal elections, Reuters reported. The Constitution grants states, not the president, power over election administration, she ruled.
TORONTO, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Canada’s clampdown on international students has hit applicants from India particularly hard, government data shows, as what was once a preferred destination loses its allure for Indian students.Canada lowered the number of international student permits it issues for the second year in a row in early 2025 as part of a broader effort to reduce the number of temporary migrants and address fraud related to student visas.snipIn 2023, Canadian authorities uncovered nearly 1,550 study permit applications linked to fraudulent letters of acceptance, most of which originated from India, Canada's immigration department told Reuters in an email.Last year its beefed-up verification system detected more than 14,000 potentially fraudulent letters of acceptance from all applicants, it said.Canada has implemented enhanced verification for international students and has increased its financial requirements for applicants, the immigration department spokesperson said.
The two Massachusetts men, 18-year-old Logan David Patterson and 20-year-old Dominick Frank Cardoza, set off the firework early in the morning of Nov. 1 inside a locker on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building on the Harvard Medical School campus, according to a criminal complaint. The explosion happened at about 2:45 a.m. and set off a fire alarm, officials previously said.The suspects, who were seen on surveillance cameras wearing face coverings, climbed over a chain-link fence and entered a construction zone, then climbed scaffolding to access the building's roof, the complaint said. After setting the firework, they left through an emergency exit and fled in opposite directions, the complaint said....The two are not Boston-area college students, Foley said, adding that there were several parties in the area on Halloween night.Foley said "principled" members of the public came forward and identified the suspects to law enforcement after seeing their photos released.
