"The failure of SNAP payments symbolizes a deeper national sickness: a society that has never fully committed to economic justice because it has never fully confronted the roots of inequality.

Feeding the poor is not charity—it is a test of civilization."

That last line sums it up perfectly.

Lets see... this program costs 100 billion a year, 70 percent of people on the program were born in other countries, and we have a dependency/entitlement  problem in this country. Come again DUmmie

What I've seen on Facebook have been a few things saying "If I don't getting my SNAP I'm just gonna go to the store and take what I need".

I'll be honest. I don't mind giving a hand up, but we're being forced to give a LOT of hand outs. For me, it's frustrating to see someone get out of a new (or nearly new) BMW or Cadillac Escalade and go into a grocery store and get T-Bone steaks and lobsters and then pay for it with EBT.

Another frustration is, after busting my behind working for the first half of the day, riding to the next job and seeing a bunch of apparently healthy men between the ages of 20 to 50 sitting under a shade tree, drinking beer, and enjoying life. Several years back we rode by one bunch of guys, and the young guy who was working with me said, "Well, that's strange". When I asked what he was talking about he said that he thought that it was strange that all of those guys took vacation from work on the same week. I told him that I was pretty sure that the chances were that we were working so that they didn't have to.

Well done. But I'll be more vulgar:

Tell your ****ing recalcitrant Democrat Senators to pass the mother****ing bill so you can get your free shit! This continuing resolution is the EXACT same budget that your shit-for-brains Biden administration had in place for 2025. The exact same. Pass the bill so that the military, the poor who suckle at the taxpayer teat, and parts of the economy can safely reopen. Then you'll have time to negotiate your funding for illegal immigrants, NPR, LGBTQ projects in Rwanda, etc.

You and the legacy & local media are lying about the causes of this shutdown because it is more complicated than the low-IQ folks can understand. So pass the bill in the U.S. Senate then you can explain to the American people exactly why all your pet projects need funding.

FACT: parasites on SNAP spend twice TWICE as much on groceries as do the people that pay for SNAP parasites.

That is ****ed up.

But it does help with the SNAP parasites to pay for extensions, nails, latest Nikes, 70 inch TVs, and of course their Cadillac Escalade payments.

End SNAP by testing for weight and work or looking for work.

Western civilization will end because of toxic feminism, toxic tolerance, and toxic empathy.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

1. This is a command to individual believers, not to government.

2. This is a command to individual believers, to act personally, not to shift their personal responsibility onto government.

3. In the real world, there are numerous Christian organizations in which believers are doing what Jesus commanded, ranging from international organizations like The Salvation Army, Mercy Ships, and Samaritan's Purse to local congregations that have their own food banks serving their neighborhoods (e.g. the two churches our family has attended since 1989 both have such food banks). Other than a few seasonal mentions, the MSM keep these organizations invisible because they believe that good news doesn't sell papers, gain viewers, or sell ads. More recently, in the worldview of MSM folk, the "wrong" people are doing these charitable works, so no coverage.

4. In the real world, Progs like Bernardo de La Paz fight to shut down actions by Samaritan's Purse (e.g. their emergency healthcare facility in NYC during 2020 and Covid) and keep Prison Fellowship out of jails and prisons. Progs like Bernardo de La Paz pretend to challenge Christians to obey Jesus commands, but in real life attempt to obstruct and shut down such actions.

Why is the measure of a civilization how many people are dependent on the government?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

When you see the videos on YouTube of these 300 pound women that have seven children and are too lazy to go to work and getting thousands of dollars a month on snap and then spending it on soda, candy chips, nails, eyelashes and hair extensions it makes you think that it’s time to cut these benefits off and get these people off their ass on their feet and out there doing something make a contribution to society instead of being a drag on the taxpayer :thatsright:

Yeah, not a great day for making my points clearly.   :-)  Scrooge felt by paying his taxes, he had done his part to take care of the poor, moonbats feel that government should take care of the poor (and everyone else, along with telling everyone what to do, what to say, and what to think) instead of them taking any personal responsibility or personal actions.  Of course moonbats think only rich people should pay taxes, further distancing them from participating in the "help".
