I don’t care who won because I don’t follow baseball, and because my life doesn’t revolve around seeing some connection to politics in everything.
I mean, I found out about the Blue Jays winning because of the hockey forum I visit. The Maple Leafs were getting their asses kicked, so fans were talking about the Blue Jays in the game-day thread instead.
Can't commit to the NHL quite yet because freaking baseball season is still going on, for at least one more game. Other than my alma mater, haven't even been paying close attention to football.
Anyway, I'm rooting for the Blue Jays because I don't have dog in this fight. There is nothing political about it. Some jag-off in lib-tard land said it would be hilarious if Canada won "because President Trump hates Canada and wants to annex it as the 51st state." In reality, it was nothing but #47 just trolling. There isn't a single Canadian born player on Toronto's team, their laundry is just representative of Toronto and not to the players' allegiances. Ditto with the Dodgers.
The Dodgers have several truly likeable players (Freeman, Betts, Kershaw), but they won the World Series just last year and have won it 8 times in their storied history dating back to their days in Brooklyn. The Jays won back-to-back in 1992 & 1993, and haven't sniffed the series since.
