Harrington lawfully owns a handgun and sometimes keeps his firearm in his truck – in full compliance with all federal and state laws – but always removes the gun from his vehicle before going to school.

The lawsuit claims that the school district searched his vehicle without a warrant, without probable cause, and without his consent, but found no gun.

I wonder if the school will try the, "Students lose constitutional rights when on campus," lie. Or maybe the, "It was an emergency," absurdity (gun in car while student in class is an emergency? ). Any school employee directly involved in entering that car should be canned!

In a major announcement at the Association of the United States Army’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C., industry leaders and Army officials outlined the latest timeline and innovations propelling this ambitious project forward.

According to Danny Deep, executive vice president for Global Operations at General Dynamics, the company expects to have a “pre-prototype” of the M1E3 tank in the hands of soldiers by the end of 2025.

This marks a substantial acceleration from traditional military procurement cycles, which often stretch over the course of a decade.

Deep emphasized the value of direct feedback from those who will ultimately operate the vehicle, stating, “We’re going to have it fielded in the next 12 months for soldiers to touch it, see what they like, see what they don’t like.”

Rather than waiting years for a perfect solution that may be obsolete by the time it arrives, Army leadership is focused on getting effective tools into the hands of troops much faster.

This article focuses on the development-approval cycle rather than details of changes to the tank. It's pretty impressive to this life-long civilian that 45 years after coming into service, the M1 still has "room" for meaningful upgrade.

As to the first story, if they would have searched vehicles when I was in high school during the 80s, the would have found guns in vehicles of 75% to 80% of the males and several of the females.

During pheasant and duck seasons, there were probably a good number of vehicles in my high school student parking lot with shotguns. Rural America is culturally different in many respects from big-city America. My hometown was probably 10K or fewer when I was born and around 20K when I graduated from high school.
