Van Jones Says Charlie Kirk’s Final Goodwill Gesture Left Him Stunned

https://pjmedia.com/tim-o-brien/2025/09/21/cnns-van-jones-reveals-that-charlie-kirks-last-goodwill-gesture-stunned-him-n4943947

Quote
... CNN contributor and certified leftist Van Jones revealed that, just before his death, Charlie had reached out to him in a major goodwill gesture.

Jones detailed Charlie’s attempts to seek constructive dialogue in an interview with Anderson Cooper and in a post on X:

Jones, who seemed genuinely surprised and touched by this sincere attempt at connecting, showed proper respect and appreciation for the real Charlie Kirk ... .

Jones told Cooper, “We were beefing. We were going at it online, on air, and then after he died, after he was murdered, my team called and said, ‘Van, he was trying to reach you man’…And what was he doing? Dialogue: ‘let’s be gentleman together.’ He says, ‘Let’s disagree agreeably.’”

Jones went on to counter the entire fabricated leftist narrative about Charlie: “This guy is reaching out to his mortal enemy, saying ‘We need to be gentlemen (and) sit down together and disagree agreeably.’ And the next day he’s killed. And I’ve sat on it long enough, and I said, ‘You know what, we’re going (into) memorial weekend for this man. We disagree. Everybody knows we were not friends, okay, at all. But you praise the good when it’s time to memorialize somebody…'
...
Jones wasn’t finished. Cooper tried to interrupt and move onto the next question, but Jones had a few words for those who would use Charlie’s death for their own purposes: “I think what happens is people get so worked up, Anderson, seeing us go at it they think they’re supposed to go out and kill somebody, or go out and talk about civil war, or go out and silence people, or cancel people, or fire people, or censor people about Charlie Kirk?”

Jones reinforced that he didn’t agree with Charlie on almost anything, but reminded the CNN audience that both he and Charlie were “words not weapons guys.”

Full kudos to Jones for his honesty in this. He could have stayed Prog-safe by saying nothing. The chances that he will catch Hell for this on DU and in similar contexts are approximately certainty. Underlying that, it appears that he actually expended some effort to learn what Kirk actually believed and advocated instead of swallowing whole Progs' buffet of lies. He also pointed out that Kirk's "thing" was dialog rather than advocating violent action.

While I guess that's nice and diplomatic, it doesn't change the awful rhetoric that self-described communist Van Jones has spouted ever since working in the 0bama administration and now on failing CNN.

Crazed gunman shouted ‘Free Palestine’ before opening fire and killing guest at Sky Meadow country club wedding: witnesses

A crazed gunman shouted ‘Free Palestine’ before he opened fire on a Nashua, New Hampshire, wedding reception and killed one guest — just as the bride and groom were about to start their first dance, according to witnesses.

Police have charged Hunter Nadeau, 23, with murder after arresting him on Saturday night following the deadly shooting at Sky Meadow Country Club about 40 miles north of Boston.

The victim has been identified as Robert Steven DeCesare, 59.

The armed maniac, wearing a mask, stormed into the wedding, flipped off the guests and shouted “the children are safe” and “Free Palestine,” witnesses told local media.

“Getting together for a dance for the bride and groom and then all chaos went off,” Tom Bartelson, the uncle of the groom, said. “We heard about six shots and everybody ducked for cover and next thing you know we’re rushed into safe spots and things like that.”

Was the guy a "known wolf" in some way? Why yell "Free Palestine" at a wedding? Was it a Jewish wedding? Lots not known.

Suspect in ABC10 building shooting arrested by FBI after being released from jail | UPDATE

https://www.abc10.com/article/news/local/sacramento/abc10-shooting-suspect-arrested-released/103-fd0c3b3c-f1fb-480e-99b6-0e60c60345fa

Quote
ACRAMENTO, Calif. — The man accused of firing a gun into ABC10's Sacramento offices was arrested by the FBI Saturday night, hours after he was released from Sacramento County Jail on bail.

According to the FBI, Anibal Hernandez Santana was arrested Saturday night on charges related to the shooting, accused of violating federal statute 47 USC 33, which relates to interfering with federally licensed stations.
...
According to online court records, Hernandez Santana filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the nonprofit California Rural Indian Health Board. Variety reported that the lawsuit was withdrawn in 2020 and that when he was fired, he got into a verbal confrontation with supervisors who called the police.

Sacramento police told ABC10 they've had interactions with Hernandez Santana in the past, but did not share details on those interactions. They have not released a motive for the shooting.

Facebook and 'X' accounts matching the suspect's name and picture posted frequently, criticizing the Trump administration. In the past week, posts on X were daily.

A post on X in July, read in part, quote: "The authoritarian oligarchy is now complete..." and "Rules don't apply if election was stolen. FIGHT!"
...
The day before the shooting, there were protests in front of ABC10. The demonstration was over ABC network's decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live following criticism over Kimmel's recent comments on Charlie Kirk's assassination.

Nothing has been released, yet, but it would be reasonable to speculate that this was related to Kimmel's suspension. I don't think this will get much national coverage, given the target and the ethnicity of the shooter. I wonder what those "interactions" with police were.

On the side, I'm so old that I remember when Sacramento channel 10 was a CBS station and Sacramento-Stockton channel 13 was the ABC station.
