BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A doctor who resigned from a North Jersey hospital last week after a nurse reported his reaction to the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk disputed the accusations against him in a statement released Tuesday.

Surgeon Matthew Jung said he "do[es] not condone violence for any reason" and said that the stories about him have resulted in "a wave of racial slurs and death threats against me. Sadly, it also led to threats against other minority physicians I once worked alongside, and against the hospital itself."

Jung said that he resigned from the hospital on Sept. 15 not because he was guilty, but because he wanted the threats to end.

Matthew Jung is full of hatred. Oh well.

AMES, Iowa — An Iowa State University employee has been fired following a social media post about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to documents obtained by The Cedar Rapids Gazette.

Caitlyn Spencer, a financial aid adviser, was terminated Tuesday, nearly two weeks after posting on Sept. 10 that Kirk “got what was coming” and that she was “happy he’s rotting in hell now.”

NEW BEDFORD — A city firefighter has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation as to whether he violated the city’s social media policy.

New Bedford Fire Chief Brian Medeiros issued the following statement, “Firefighter Jonathan Pacheco was placed on paid administrative leave on Sept. 15 pending the outcome of an investigation regarding possible violations of the city’s social media policy, the Fire Department’s rules and regulations, and the city’s discrimination/harassment policy.”

A post allegedly from Pacheco’s Facebook page referencing slain political activist Charlie Kirk appeared as a screen shot on social networking platform X on Sept. 15 that included information on how to contact the New Bedford Fire Dept. regarding the post in the comments section. One comment claimed that the alleged post had been forwarded to the New Bedford Fire Department.

One of the two Peabody Public School teachers placed on leave following the shooting death of far-right activist Charlie Kirk is no longer employed, the district confirmed.

The teacher, who worked at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, “will not be returning to their position,” Superintendent Josh Vadala said in a statement. The investigation into the other teacher “is still active and ongoing,” he said.

“We are currently in the process of identifying a qualified, full time replacement. Teachers have been assigned to both classrooms to ensure high-level instruction continues uninterrupted,” Vadala told Boston.com.

Many teachers in the Boston area have been suspended to fired. They should not be teaching.

After several school districts and universities across the nation fired or suspended faculty for their controversial social media posts about the murder of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, some of these educators are now taking legal action, claiming their free speech rights were violated.

On Wednesday, a federal judge ordered the University of South Dakota to temporarily reinstate professor Michael Hook, after the board of regents recommended his termination over his social media post responding to Kirk’s killing.

Hook, a tenured fine arts professor, wrote on his personal Facebook account that he didn’t give a "flying f---" about Kirk, calling him a "hate-spreading Nazi." He deleted the post three hours later, but according to his lawsuit, the board of regents moved swiftly to fire him after prominent state officials called for his removal. Hook’s complaint alleges that the university retaliated against him for exercising his First Amendment rights by commenting, in his private capacity, on a matter of national discourse.

A woman arrested for allegedly setting a fire outside a church in El Paso, Texas, is accused of hand-delivering hateful messages to the facility ahead of a Charlie Kirk vigil there, a report said.

Marynka Marquez, 35, of Denton, was charged with arson in the wake of the incident at Beth El Bible Church last Wednesday, according to the El Paso Police Department.

"When police arrived, the investigation revealed that a woman had gone to the church, placed a large bag against the outside wall of the church, set it on fire, and then fled the scene," police said. "Fortunately, the pastor was leaving the church when he spotted the fire and quickly put it out."
