OSKALOOSA, Iowa — An Oskaloosa art teacher who was fired for a post made on social media following the assassination of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk is suing the school district, alleging the move violates his constitutional rights.During a special meeting Wednesday night, the Oskaloosa Community School District voted to terminate the contract of Matthew Kargol following a public outcry over posts he made on social media after the September 10 shooting death of Kirk at a Utah college campus. The post reportedly said, “1 Nazi down.”On Thursday morning, Kargol filed a federal lawsuit against the school district and Superintendent Michael Fisher, claiming his termination over the posts violated his First Amendment rights.

MIDLAND, Texas — The Midland Independent School District board voted unanimously on Thursday to terminate Midland High School teacher Lynette Fields after she made controversial comments in the classroom regarding the recent assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.According to MISD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard, Fields told students that Kirk “deserved what he got” and even stated she would celebrate his death.Dr. Howard emphasized that the district is taking the incident seriously and underscored that similar behavior will not be tolerated from district employees.

Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., the far-left Democratic nominee for governor, called Charlie Kirk a Christian nationalist who wanted to roll back the rights of women and Black people after the passage of a House resolution honoring the conservative activist.The House adopted a resolution to honor Kirk's "life and legacy" Friday, just over a week after he was shot and killed during a college campus speaking event in Utah. The measure got bipartisan support in a 310-58 vote, with both Democrats and Republicans condemning political violence after Kirk's assassination.The vote divided Democrats, however, with 95 lawmakers, including Sherrill, voting to adopt the resolution, 58 voting against it and 22 not voting at all.
