After reporting about Trump's claim of DC crime, they provided stats that contradicted him.

They also showed through consumer index prices how everything is much more expensive.

When the media acts like everything is peachy keen and perfectly normal, it feels like a slap in the face to me, like a great big FU on top of everything we're already going through. At least NBC is pointing out that he's wrong and telling it like it is.

And think of how pissed he'll be. He can't stand to have his lies contradicted , and he's going to HATE this!

A D.C. police commander is under investigation for allegedly making changes to crime statistics in his district.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Michael Pulliam was placed on paid administrative leave in mid-May. That happened just a week after Pulliam filed an equal employment opportunity complaint against an assistant chief and the police union accused the department of deliberately falsifying crime data, according to three law enforcement sources familiar with the complaint.

The union claims police supervisors in the department manipulate crime data to make it appear violent crime has fallen considerably compared to last year.

My emphasis. Funny how facts disappear in MSM "reports" when the facts demonstrate Trump being correct.

Gas prices plummeted last year and that’s kept inflation lower than expected but a different number, core inflation, which excludes gas and groceries rose 3% and economists say it’s increasing sharply.

“The economic indicators show that we are moving in the right direction,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

My emphasis. So, gas and food prices are down, but nobody buys either with any regularity, right?

As I say, there are lies, damned lies, and things Democrats say. Democrats can only contradict Trump's point by manipulating stats to show a "decline" since crime was at an astronomically high rate a couple years ago (even though it is still very high).

Yes, that's right. DC crime is now just exceptionally high, whereas it had been historically high before. Congrats, Dems!

Saw several DC residents interviewed who were grateful for the increased police presence from Trump. The DC cut-backs had the greatest impacts on minority communities. And that's typical for leftist attempts at social engineering.
But DU'ers need not fret as Chuck Schumer's full-time DC police escort is fully funded. Meanwhile the low income areas dream of streets as safe as Baghdad's.
