WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday said authorities have detained 32 people suspected of coordinating with Russia to engage in acts of sabotage, according to Polish news agency PAP.

One person has been convicted, while the others are in custody awaiting trial, PAP reported.

The group includes a Pole, Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians, PAP reported, as well as a 27-year-old Colombian man who is accused of two arson attacks in Poland last year at Russia’s behest.

IIRC, Poland is among the EuroLand nations who have supplied arms/equipment to Ukraine (some/much of it legacy Soviet era equipment which Ukraine's military forces use). Before Ukraine frustrated Putin's plan of conquest, Poland was probably one of Putin's future targets.

I could definitely see Russia working to destabilize Poland in order to gain a regime favorable to Moscow, which in turn would create divisions in NATO and the EU.

Russia already had, when they invaded Ukraine (the 2022 invasion), forces working in neighboring Moldova working to destabilize that country.

From what I understand the suspects are looking at 10 years to life in prison for their crimes. However it's unlikely that they will serve the entire sentence. While Poland's prisons are ok Polish prisoners tend to treat Russians and those that collaberate with them in a less than optimal manner for a long life.

[Sarcasm] I wonder why? [/Sarcasm] Were the Soviets unpleasant and arrogant serf-masters?

Is it related to the Poland nation of Poland shifting however many score or hundreds of miles westward during WW2?

Was it because of the Soviets' early 1920s attempt to reconquer Poland?

Is it older? From the Russian bear gradually gobbling up Poland until Poland ceased to exist until the settlement of WW1?
