I've never been a WWE fan but know that he and his character probably did more than anyone else to expand WWE in the late 80s. He was always entertaining to watch and offstage he was a good guy.

RIP to The Hulkster and  :hammer: to the DUmmies pissing on his grave.

And the members of the self-proclaimed party of compassion once again show their true colors. You'd think the fact that they are perpetual impotent laughing stocks would cause them to be reluctant to speak in these cases, but that would require common sense, intelligence, and decency which are all things that the DUmbAsses do not have.

The evilness that fills the empty void within them (where normal people have an actual soul) seems to force them to constantly and openly display their evilness and hatred to the world. Perhaps that is God's (or nature's) way of allowing the rest of the world to see them for the hollow shell of darkness that they truly are so that, although they are essentially useless wastes of oxygen who are the dregs of society, they can at least be used as a perfect example of what sane, normal, decent people should strive to avoid. Somewhat like the brightly colored poison frog.

Have never been a wrestling fan, but my brother got all those magazines in the 1980's and just found that "sport" silly to watch. But to each their own.

As an aside, 10 days ago I composed a trivia question at my weekly show that involved Ozzy Osborne, and also had a "picture round" of famous people with mustaches and the Hulkster was one of them. And then they both died soon after. While it is a sad fact of life that people pass on, it is always cathartic to recall the joy that they brought to people.

And I expect nothing less than the left-turds to crap all over any conservative leaning person when they die. No one will remember your deadbeat asses when you pass.

Random odd fact, courtesy of W'pedia, in his teens and twenties, for about 10 years he played bass in a Florida area band(s) ... a fretless bass. That takes serious musical skill!

My parents were into pro wrestling somewhat in the 1960s - snowy B&W picture from an Oakland TV station (we lived in the Sacramento area, not the Bay Area, but with the antenna turned the right way ...). My Mom took the shtick way too seriously and that persuaded me that pro wrestling wasn't my thing. So I wasn't into the 1980s and following revival of pro wrestling.

It's funny that you mention this...  there were several people in my family I can remember watching that stuff back in the last 70's. The funny thing is that it was all the older women, like grandma and some of my aunts etc. And if you tried to tell them it was an act, they would actually get pretty bent about it and argue with you. I just always found it comical that it was elderly women watching this stuff and getting all amped up over it. Personally, I always thought it was silly and had no interest in it. But like yourself, I do recognize the contribution that Hogan was for the culture of the 80's etc. Even people who weren't wrestling fans liked the guy and the personality.

I wasn’t into WWE/WWF, but from what I’ve read about Terry, he was a decent man. We all have faults, it’s how God designed us, but most of us strive to be decent people and some are blessed enough to do more than others.

I’ll never understand the DUmmies obsession with their celebration of death. There are people I don’t like, but there are VERY few I would celebrate their death.

If you’re a known pedo, or animal abuser, yeah, I’ll celebrate. People I just don’t like, I’m not celebrating, but probably will do no more than offer prayers to family and friends.

Rooting around W'pedia a little, what we watched was Big Time Wrestling, which was based in SF and whose arena was the Cow Palace in Daly City.

From W'pedia, it sounds like the rather huge (billed as 601 pounds) Haystacks Calhoun did his thing nationally. Apparently his obesity caused him problems later in life and he died at age 55.

I went to school with a gal that was just mean. Mean and tough. I found out years later she went on the wrestling circuit and I didn’t believe it, but I looked her up and it was true!  Her best friends name when we were growing up was Penney, and that was her wrestling name. Her real name was Glendean Mitchell but her stage name was Penney.

I found videos of her. I’m glad her rage found an outlet!  lol

Of course wrestling is staged. Anyways, Hulk Hogan was in movies and TV shows. I remember them as well.
