I have to admit, I'm in awe of the volume of stupid being spat around over there.

It's an embedded twizzler so I can't bring it over intact

After media reports & experts warned for months that drastic & sudden cuts at the Nat Weather Service by Trump could impair their forecasting ability & endanger lives during the storm season, TX officials blame an inaccurate forecast by NWS for the deadly results of the flood.

1. Gutting funding for NOAA and NWS will result in more senseless deaths such as this.

I didn’t make the rules. The rightwing did when they decided any disaster, including natural disasters, were Biden’s fault.

Ergo, everything that happens now is Traitor’s fault

this lack of self-awareness is next level

Is there evidence - outside of Prog hatred - that weather forecasts in Texas were at all affected by budget cuts? There is lots of MSM scare-mongering out there, but are there any actual underlying facts?

Is there evidence - outside of Prog hatred - that emergency services availability/readiness was in the least affected by a supposedly incorrect weather forecast?

Is there evidence - outside of Prog hatred - that planning/scheduling - which was done over months and weeks before this storm - the camp was in the least affected by a supposedly incorrect weather forecast?

This may sound heartless - though it is not - but the phenomenon of Texas hill country getting full annual rainfall from a single storm dates back centuries or millennia.

Any DUpipo posting that these Texas/Fundie-kids and -parents got what they deserved?

If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Notice that is says inaccurate forecast, not lack of a forecast.

There are proposed NWS budget cuts for fiscal year 2026. Blaming something in 2025 for something that might happen in 2026 is rather silly.

That thread is so DU-normal that I did not immediately notice a simple fact:

As many as two dozen girls died, and DU-Denizens' first reaction was to blame Trump. Then after someone admitted that a weather warning had gone out in a timely way, DUpipo reverted to blaming the camp for not evacuating and mocking Christians and Christianity.

Not until around Reply 52 (of 71!) was agenda-free sympathy for the girls expressed. As I said, so DU-normal.
