NYC will be diving deeper into its shit-hole-dom.

Just a quick checklist of cities where I have no desire to visit anymore or live in:

NYC
LA
Chicago (served my time there when the Democrats were at least sane)
Baltimore
Philly
San Francisco
Minneapolis
Milwaukee
Portland
Seattle
Atlanta

Probably more...feel free to add.

Commies are bad for business:

Quote
Shares of firms with exposure to New York City's real-estate market were hammered Wednesday as investors panicked over the growing prospect of rent-freeze advocate Zohran Mamdani winning City Hall.
Vornado Realty Trust and SL Green, two of the Big Apple's largest developers, each plunged more than 5%.

Other real estate investment trusts (REITs) with heavy ties to the city also suffered. Equity Residential and Empire State Realty Trust fell 3% and 4%, respectively. LXP Industrial Trust was down 2.5%.

Investors also sold off shares in New York banks with major real estate portfolios.

Flagstar Financial and Dime Community Bank fell 5% and 4%, respectively, while Flushing Financial slipped 3%.

Found this good for a chuckle early this morning:

Joy Reid Argues on CNN that Zohran Mamdani Has More Experience Than Trump

MSNBC finally emancipated itself from conspiracy nut Joy Reid, and now CNN is having her on as a guest panelist? Doesn't she have a podcast to look after like all of the other media talking heads that lost their jobs in recent years?

Not surprisingly, Reid is pleased that a Ugandan Islamist socialist won New York City's Democratic mayoral race Tuesday night. We were waiting for her eyeballs to roll out of their sockets as Arthur Aidala laid into Zohran Mamdani and how even the New York Times had urged readers not to vote for him. Mamdani had a huge following among young, college-educated people who are too young to remember 9/11 and probably took part in pro-Hamas encampments on their campuses — so what if the guy says, "globalize the Intifada"?

Reid finally had to break in and remind Aidala that President Donald Trump's only experience before being elected president was being the host of "The Apprentice," and for goodness' sake, he made Dr. Mehmet Oz part of his administration, so she doesn't want to hear one word about "experience."

Plenty of older New York City voters remember the experience of walking through Times Square in the '70s and '80s. Reid wanted some proof from Aidala that that would be the situation again under a Mayor Mamdani:

We honestly don't know what CNN was thinking when they invited Reid on as a panelist. Have they not destroyed their credibility enough?

Is St. Louis still the per-capita murder capital of the US?

It is a complicated answer because the reporting is horrid and slow and often inaccurate. And certain major U.S. cities don't actually belong to a county, making it that more confusing.

Cannot vouch for this source, but here's a little reference for y'all:

Quote
Which cities have the most homicides?
One way to approximate city homicide numbers is with data from large urban counties. This is inexact, as some counties map to a single city others contain multiple cities or a broader metropolitan area, and some major cities (like St. Louis and Baltimore) are independent and don’t belong to any county. But county-level numbers are still instructive.

Cook County, Illinois, home to Chicago and its metropolitan area, had 929 homicides in 2022 — the most in the nation. The second highest was Los Angeles County, California, whose 88 cities, including Los Angeles, had 713 homicides.

Los Angeles and Cook Counties are also the two most populated counties in the country. When adjusted for population, Cook County’s 18.2 homicides per 100,000 people ranked 17th among 60 large-city US counties with reliable data, and Los Angeles County’s 7.3 ranked 41st.

Predictable: Anybody Criticizing Mamdani Is 'Islamophobic'

Zohran Mamdani glorified Hamas members in his rap music, embraces a podcaster who insists that America deserved 9/11, wants to "globalize the Intifada," and is a proud anti-capitalist socialist.

Obviously, if you have a problem with that, you are Islamophobic.

That is the message being blared out by the Pravda Media, which, when forced to choose between criticizing MAGA and criticizing an anti-American Islamist, will always choose the former. MAGA is evil. Islamists? It's bigoted to notice that whole Sharia thing, the massacres of Christians in Africa, the ethnic cleansing in the Middle East, the terrorism, and the rape gangs in Europe.

Zohran Mamdani, to be fair, is not an Islamist as we tend to think of them. In fact, his affinity to Islamists is of the same kind as the "Queers for Palestine," and his apparently comfort with 9/11 has more to do with his embrace of Communism than of Sharia law. So, I suppose, you could say that his being Muslim is beside the point. Make his religious background Christian, and he would embrace the same evil people he does now.

He is not FOR Islam, but against the West. Since the Islamists are with him on that, he is with them. He is with any radicals--a Critical Theorist to the core.

But he is WITH the Islamists, and has said so many times, and he is running to get the Muslim vote by appealing to his Muslim roots. And many of those Muslims he is appealing to are Islamists.

Any sane person would criticize this, and it is not Islamophobic to do so. It isn't even Islamophobic to oppose Islam becoming a dominant force in American culture. All cultural groups prefer their own culture--it is what makes a culture a culture--and it is perfectly reasonable for Americans to reject the idea that New York City should look more like Mecca or Tehran.

He's also Indian and born in Uganda, so criticizing him is also racist. Because victim-class.

In one of Gutfeld's books, he came up with the wonderful phrase "Islamophobia-phobia". This phrase appears to be a rhetorical device used to express concerns about what he perceives as an oversensitivity or fear of being labeled as Islamophobic, which in turn hinders open discussion about issues related to Islam or Islamism.

That fear of being called an "Islamophobe" or "Racist" underlies and empowered the "grooming gangs" scandal in the UK, which has been brewing and incompletely stifled.

News of the grooming gangs has been circulating in NewMedia circles for a decade or two, but Brit MSM and pols have largely prevented/avoided meaningful action. Starmer may, finally, be pursuing it in some degree, but no Brit, IMO, should be holding their breath in anticipation of something akin to justice. I would LOVE to be proven wrong in that assessment but do not expect to be.

Naturally, your typical legacy leftists are continuing to trot out the usual garbage about Islamophobia when any criticism of Mamdani is spoken.

Here's one example:

As Mamdani Rises, Anti-Muslim Attacks Roll In From the Right

Even before Zohran Mamdani claimed victory in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary, he had become a target of racist attacks from the far right. Those attacks have only intensified in the wake of his commanding performance on Tuesday, with Republican elected officials and right-wing media figures accusing him of promoting Islamic law, supporting terrorism and posing a threat to the safety of New Yorkers, especially Jews.

There has been nothing subtle about it: Stephen Miller, the architect of the Trump administration’s immigration policy, called Mr. Mamdani’s apparent win “the clearest warning yet of what happens to a society when it fails to control migration.” Representative Andy Ogles, Republican of Tennessee, accused Mr. Mamdani of supporting terrorists and asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to strip him of his citizenship and deport him.

Representative Nancy Mace, Republican of South Carolina, shared a photo of Mr. Mamdani preparing for an Eid service while dressed in a kurta, writing, “we sadly have forgotten” the Sept. 11 attacks, which occurred when Mr. Mamdani was 9 years old and living in Manhattan. And Charlie Kirk, the head of Turning Point USA, a leading group for conservative youth, sought to connect him to those attacks even more directly.

“24 years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11,” he wrote. “Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.”

The attacks on Mr. Mamdani, who would be the first Muslim mayor of New York City if elected, deal in well-worn Islamophobic and anti-immigrant tropes. To some, they carry echoes of the “birther” conspiracy theory Donald J. Trump stoked for years before he was elected president, when he falsely claimed that President Barack Obama was Muslim and born in Kenya.

Mr. Obama is Christian and was born in Hawaii; Mr. Mamdani is Muslim and was born to Indian parents in Uganda. But like the “birther” attacks, the vitriolic barbs being aimed at Mr. Mamdani seek to paint him as a shadowy, dangerous figure who bears no resemblance to the candidate himself.

The dark vision of Mr. Mamdani’s New York that his opponents describe is also deeply out of step with the coalition that powered his rise, which is young and multiethnic. He prevailed in neighborhoods with more higher-income and middle-income residents, more college graduates and more white, Asian and Hispanic residents.

No link, NY Slimes...

My criticism of this clown has zero to do with his faith: He is a socialist/communist and hates the Jews. Enough to for me to dislike him.

Methinks that's actually supposed to boost Mamdani in the eyes of the centrists.
