University of California Santa Barbara History Professor Butch Ware said Democrats "must be destroyed" and urged attendees to be ready for "war in the streets." Notably, in postings on X, Ware has said that candidates such as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed are too restrained and are being pushed by the establishment "to contain radicalism."

North Carolina House Democrats say they will no longer support one of their own candidates as criticism mounts over messages promoting political violence that were posted to her social media accounts. The withdrawal of support could have ramifications for the party’s efforts to gain influence in the chamber.

Shelly Headen is the Democratic nominee challenging incumbent Republican Rep. John Blust in Guilford County’s competitive House District 62.

Posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and X accounts bearing her name and photograph promote an attack on U.S. soil, compare President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and wish ill toward those who support Trump’s “make America great again” slogan.

“I think our only hope is an attack on US soil ... preferably Alabama, Louisiana ... where the stupid people live,” one Facebook post says.

“Ready for the MAGAs to die off!!” a message on X, formerly Twitter, says.

A LinkedIn message compared Trump and his supporters to Nazis, saying Trump was “getting close to surpassing Hilter [sic]” and that the “MAGA cult may be more destructive and evil than the Nazis.”

In its latest edition, Liberal Currents asks, “What Are Democrats Thinking?” A lot of them are thinking about a dead President Donald Trump, according to a new poll featured in the left-wing digital magazine.

The poll, conducted in partnership with the Center for Strategic Politics, finds about one out of every three Democrats responding would like to see Trump assassinated while speaking at a rally. The survey of 683 Dem voters found 23 percent would feel “very positive” about the violent scenario posed. Another 8 percent would feel “somewhat positive.”

A federal agent assigned to Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation of Donald Trump said prosecutors kept him in the dark that phone data he was gathering under grand jury subpoenas belonged to members of Congress and that he would have had reservations about doing so if he had been told, according to explosive testimony released Tuesday night by the House Judiciary Committee.

Retired Justice Department Inspector General Special Agent Brian Burnett was quoted in the transcript as saying that during his decades working at the DOJ's watchdog, he never once was asked to collect congressional phone data and did not learn until after he retired in late 2024 that he had unwittingly done so as part of his work for Smith's team prosecuting Trump in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot investigation code-named Arctic Frost.
