How can I post a link without showing the entire url?

For example, how do I make a hyperlink out of the word "link"?
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.

God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Standard URL code, but good information to have. I'll use Thor's example at USMILNET.

How to post a small link

BTW, I do hate the way I have to modify and will try to find a modification that makes it easier. That I promise.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

OK...I just  tried this, and it didn't work for me...the code should look something like this, right?

(what you want to show up for the link)

Is there supposed to be spaces or no spaces or something??

I admit, I'm not so good at all this stuff!

To demonstrate code on the board, use the
Code: [Select]
[.code] bbc code here [/.code]  and then insert the code in between. It will show up as text and not translated into BBC. (Remove the periods)

Try this:
[.url=address]title[./url]
remove the . in both locations...this worked for me earlier.
