he also said in the debate tonight that the problem with the president's stimulus plan (which I disagree with in principle, but that's a different conversation) was that "it only goes to tax payers".

as opposed to what? :whatever:

I'm glad I didn't watch the debate.  My TV screen would be shattered due to the lamp I threw.

Did anyone on stage jump on that stupidity?  Nevermind.

no.  in fact, they all agreed that it was fundamentally unfair to only give tax rebates back to tax payers. :whatever:

they were cute.  the barack star called hitlery a corporate whore, and hitlery called the obamian a slum lord and a liar.

and the little princess johnnie edwards flashed his girlie bits and whined because everybody was ignoring him.

he really did come off as a whiner.  the "aggressive john edwards" of the philadelphia debate seems like a zillion years ago.  but when he piled on, it was usually on the obamaian, like his habit of voting "present" in the illinois senate.

Didn't Presidant Bush do something like this?  Isn't there talks of him doing an $800 right now?

All I know is that i'm getting 2k back in my return this year, and I'm a happy camper. :hyper:

It was first used by bubba when the Republican Congress proposed a tax cut in response to his bragging about the "surplus".
He fought giving money back to taxpayers by saying it wasn`t fair to those that didn`t pay taxes "where is their tax cut?" were his words.

This is essentially a poison pill in legislation and lets them claim to want a tax cut but knowing one will never occur on those terms.

You should be sick about it.  The IRS is not a savings bank.  If you are getting $2000.00 back, you have given them too much of your money.  You have let them use almost $38.50 each week without interest.  That's about $165.00 each month you could have used.   :hammer:

Yep, I agree. Now that we paid a small tax debt we had a couple years back, I told the other half it was time to adjust our withholdings. There is no reason to live so tight to the curb when the IRS is borrowing FREE our money we could be using every month.

I think its fundamentally unfair that I don't get a chance to hit the lotto even though I don't put money down for a ticket. I think I need audience with Hill and Obama to discuss this fundamental violation of my basic sense of fairness. :whatever: :-) I think it's also 'unfair' that I don't get an earned income tax credit just because I have a husband. That's bullshit. :whatever: :-)

they cited "seniors who have to pay their heating bill".  opposing that, of course, is tantamount to herding every senior citizen up and sending them off to freeze to death in the streets.

and john edwards mentioned some little girl who's mother couldn't afford to buy her a coat.  that is a heart rending scenario, of course, but THERE are obviously better solutions than a federal "no kid left without a coat" program.

edited for horrifying there/their grammatical error.

No coat huh? They run drives in the rural areas here even every year collecting coats, mittens, hats, etc. We are tight here, but I still managed to hit the sales and got my own children(all 3 of them) coats for around 75 dollars. That was brand new. We have a few gently used stores here like Once Upon A Child where one can get a good winter coat for about 10 bucks. 10 dollars!!! When things are tight and you expect them to continue you buy the coat a little big so the kid can use it for 2 years. That's 5 dollars a year for a second hand coat...if someone can't afford that, then quite honestly their child might belong in a more stable care situation with a family member. I'm tired of people like obamery making excuses for people who really need a whole life overall and not with the benefit of tax dollars. I'm generally a charitable person, but I'm tired of this pity story crap at election time when those of us who have btdt know good and well that there are ways to stretch a dollar and alternatives to doing without for necessities if one really chooses to look for them.

Sorry, WE...rant...but this stuff generally just chaps my hide. :banghead:

I am so sick and tired of this phony "senior citizens" crap.  FFS, the "senior citizens" of the USA is the wealthiest demographic every to occupy this earth.  Do each and everyone of them have gobs of money?  No.  So, if we are going to go the socialism route, let us do it with some common sense.  Give welfare to the ones who need it instead of making it a blanket coverall situation.

I would guess about 85% of the money stolen out of young families' pockets each week goes to a very well-to-do senior so he can pay his greens fees or she can hit the bingo tables.  Doesn't that just chap your behind?

As for the little girl without a coat, tell her family to get involved with a church.  A church will never allow one of its family members go without a coat.   They could also contact a few "senior citizens" and ask for some of their money back.

Of course it does, Undies...currently I can only speak from the perspective of a mother with children and someone who is younger and has been on hard times. If I had to use my parents for reference though, I agree with your analysis. The funny thing is my mother gets all ga ga over national healthcare all the time, yet she does well for herself, lives with us at a very very low rent, and is very stingy with her money(much of it inherited from her father). She's all to happy though to put such a burden on me and my children while hoarding her own resources.

They also used that line when some of the states that had surpluses were sending checks to the taxpayers. The truth is democrats see that money as belonging to the Govt not, the taxpayer. Some even go as far as to call tax cuts or rebates as theft. When the truth is taxation is pretty much Govt endorsed theft.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.
