The DUmmies come so close to actually saying what is causing this, but they dare not for losing their liberal credentials. They almost admit if you give away free stuff people will come take advantage of free stuff. They almost admit that if ou continue to raise taxes you’re more than likely going to do more harm than good. They ALMOST admit their liberal policies created the problem.

There needs to be a way to raise money by taxing everyone to solve the problem.

Not sure you're going to garner much support for sales taxes though, people here tend to shy away from that topic. Now, if only the politicians in California in general, and LA in particular were not so opposed to raising taxes, they could find the money......

This is some scary shit. My son-in-law’s mother was knocked down by some homeless tent dweller and broke her shoulder. Was hospitalized for weeks. No response from authorities. This is a real cancer in our more temperate climate cities. Petty crime is surging. Not my town any more. Really sad.

The Land of LA has been Dem-controlled for decades. Ditto SF. Much the same with CA's legislature, and considering that Ahhhnold was the Dems' pet RINO, pretty much the same with the Governor's office. Own it, Proggies, your girls and boys attracted, subsidized, and exploited the Sacred Homeless for political gain, and now the piper is handing you the bill.

I assume Dream Girl is a true-blue Prog and all that, but she's something DUpipo should always fear in discussions like this. She's lived with it, and she's will to be honest about it.

The only reason SJ is not close to the conditions of SF and LA is that we have a small river and a creek or two along which the Sacred Homeless camp, crap, and accumulate junk. It's to the point that their encampments are partly visible on Google Maps Satellite View, where they are not hidden under trees.

Part of the problem, subsidizing and enabling the bum-lifestyle can be changed. But until the mental health laws that make it almost impossible to deal with the mentally ill and chemical addicts are changed, progress will be limited. I realize those laws were changed in the 60s and 70s because of very real abuses, but the pendulum was swung to the opposite extreme, with foreseeable results.

“The Skid Is Everywhere”, And We Just Received More Confirmation That The Worst Is Yet To Come

Quote
All over America, large portions of our major cities are being transformed into stomach-churning cesspools of squalor.  Thousands of tens cities are popping up from coast to coast as the homeless population explodes, even the New York Times admits that we are facing “the worst drug crisis in American history”, there were more than 28,000 official complaints about human feces in the streets of San Francisco last year alone, and millions of rats are currently overrunning the city of Los Angeles.  And yet the authorities continue to insist that the economy is in good shape and that everything is going to be just fine.

Perhaps everything may seem “just fine” if you live in a heavily sanitized wealthy suburban neighborhood and you only get your news from heavily sanitized corporate media sources, but in the real world things are getting really bad.

It is really bad in Los Angeles and San Francisco, which are leftist strongholds.

The solution may be complex but the causes are simple. Off benefits to the homeless and you attract them. Raise the cost of housing to the point that large groups of people can afford to by or rent a dwelling and you add to the homeless population. Allow them to set up shop pretty much anywhere with little to no restrictions and you invite even more homeless people. Make the place a safe haven for drug addicts and you attract even more homeless. Become a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants who can't afford even substandard housing and... well I think we know what happens.

Once you get to this point there are few humane options left to reduce the problem.

The solution may be complex but the causes are simple. ... Raise the cost of housing 1 to the point that large groups of people can afford to by or rent a dwelling and you add to the homeless population. ... Make the place a safe haven for drug addicts and you attract even more homeless 2. ...

Once you get to this point there are few humane options left to reduce the problem.

1 CA's extremely housing prices are a supply-demand thing. Government choked supply through anti-landlord laws, anti-development laws, Enviro-laws, overlapping expensive permitting, take-aways, restrictions on what could be built, and fees. So demand far outgrew supply. Competition bid up prices, and in rental housing landlords were forced to be very choosy.

2 The needle exchange programs that were implemented in the 80s and 90s to reduce AIDS among addicts have, predictably, become addicts' enablers. I haven't heard of LA having this problem, but these programs are the reason why SF has a problem with used needles "on the streets" (Sidewalks, gutter, park playgrounds, ...) along with their bum crap problem.

I've given it a couple of days to see if the primitives, or any liberal for that matter, voice the realization that the Dem party has no reason to do anything about the homeless situation in CA, mainly because they already own the State. If so, I haven't seen it.

CA isn't going to vote Republican anytime soon, so the Dems have nothing to lose by ignoring the problem, or any problems in CA for that matter. They will continue to have the governors office, the senate and house, the mayor-ship, city, and county councils of all the major cities, etc... Regardless of the homeless situation, getting overrun with illegals, uptick in crime,...... it doesn't matter. The Dems own the major of the voters of CA.

They OWN them!

They even have these voters where they'll intentionally cover it up or not talk about the problems because it would make the Dems look bad. The rank and file Dems are completely under the control of their leaders.

Will the homeless problems and like issues in CA go away? No. But you'll see talk of these issues not being mentioned publicly. There's nothing to be gained from it.

The democrat party can't be bothered finding a real solution to the ever increasing homeless crisis and the crisis at the border.   They have far more pressing matters to deal with such as their continued harrassment of President Trump and their non stop investigations into their collusion/obstruction nothing burger.
