She is not Meghan Markle. She is the Duchess of Sussex.

In all the hullabaloo today about Trump calling Meghan Markle nasty one thing is really getting my goat.

Trump calling her nasty is not a surprise. She is a woman of colour who would rather cut off her own head and eat it than meet him. Who could blame her? Of course he is going to be rude about it.

However, she is the Duchess of Sussex and married to the fifth in line to the throne.
That in this whole debate today everyone has failed to use her title, like they know her.... just smacks of racism and misogyny.

Just sayin'

She might be the Duchess of Sussex to British subjects over in merry olde England but she aint jack shit to me.

36. She is titled HRH Princess Henry, The Duchess of Sussex & styled as HRH The Duchess of Sussex.
Kneel before her and lick her boots then, for all I care, but don't expect real Americans to do the same.

16. As an American, I would never refer to someone using such a title.

I actually agree wholeheartedly with a DUmmy.  I cringe when I turn on golf coverage on CBS and the fawning clown Jim Nantz always refers to his broadcast partner as "Sir Nick" Faldo. This isn't ****ing England nor do we live under Britsh monarchy.  :banghead:

1. Her name is not "Duchess of Sussex".

2. Meghan Markle uttered her insult before she married Prince Harry.

Married to the 5th in line for the throne?

She's got better odds of gaining the Iron Throne.

Strange. It brings out a lot of questions...

So she stopped being Meghan Markle when she got married? She became someone else? Kind of like just up and deciding that you're a different gender?
If the DUmmies are so caught up in pomp and circumstance why do they constantly refer to that Maddow dude as just Rachel? Shouldn't they use his title?

Doesn't this fly in the face of the feminist position that a woman's identity should not be subordinate, or even related, to husband or father?

If they were consistent, they would condemn Harry for not taking Meghan's name.

2. good, i hope the entire visit goes like this

with endless comparisons to how he didn't get what Obama did.

I doubt that President Trump is going to get all broken up about it.

The president and first lady are not going to stay at Buckingham Palace, where state visitors usually lodge, apparently because of renovations underway at the queen's 775-room official residence. They are expected to stay at Winfield House, the spacious home of the U.S. ambassador to Britain.

Considering what Trump did to other beds Obama slept in when in other countries, probably a wise precaution.   :sarcasm:

The reason why President Trump won’t be staying at Buckingham Palace is simple, as stated in Pete’s post above:  it’s being renovated.  He and the FLOTUS are staying at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence instead.

I know I shouldn’t ask this, but how difficult is that to understand?  Apparently, that is miles above the DUmmies’ pointy little heads.

President Trump's UK state visit

Quote
Queen Elizabeth presented both President Trump and Melania Trump with gifts.

The first lady was given a “specially commissioned silver box" with a “handcrafted enamel lid,” according to the Palace.

The box was designed to match the ceiling of Buckingham Palace's music room. The palace said it has a “royal blue centre over basses-taille circular rose, thistle and shamrocks as seen in details of the (Buckingham Palace) Music Room ceiling pattern; raised gold royal cypher details. Guilloche pattern underneath soft opalescent crème enamel to reflect the colours of the room.” ...
...
Queen Elizabeth is showing President Trump and first lady Melania Trump the royal gift collection, which is a room filled with artifacts.

CNN's Max Foster said they're specifically viewing artifacts relating to the US.

"He'll be shown the Declaration of Independence that comes out of the British archive and some engraved portraits as well of George Washington, for example," Foster said.
...
The Queen gave Donald Trump an abridged first edition of Winston Churchill’s book, “The Second World War.”

The book, printed in 1959, is presented in a crimson and gold-tooled cover. It features a gold royal cypher, silk endpapers and hand-sewn headbands in the colors of the US flag.
...
The state banquet laid on for the Trumps on Monday evening is no small affair.

When America's first couple sit down to the lavish dinner in Buckingham Palace, they will be treated to an exquisite menu that was six months in the planning, and a table that took royal staff three days to set.

Around 170 guests are expected at the dinner, personally overseen by Queen Elizabeth II, in what will be a highlight of US President Donald Trump's first state visit to Great Britain.

The menu -- which is yet to be revealed -- will be served on historic dinner sets with six drinking glasses, for water, a champagne toast, red and white wines, a dessert wine and port, according to the UK's Press Association.

The table arrangement is a painstakingly precise process. ...
...
Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband, White House adviser Jared Kushner, watched from a balcony at Buckingham Palace as the US President and Prince Charles surveyed the troops in the palace garden.

I'm betting President Trump does not have to be informed of the proper dinner protocol... like his predecessor did.

I'm surprised that Moochelle had to be reminded what silverware was for, after she started eating using her bare hands.

Was that better or worse than when MO slapped the queen into a bear hug.
