Well, too bad for the Bernie brats; they might as well pack up their tents and join the caravan.

The New York Times Shows that Joe Biden Has an Open Lane to the Democratic Nomination

I go back and forth on Joe Biden’s chances at the Democratic nomination. On the one hand, we’ve seen him run two primary campaigns, and they both ended badly. Moreover, given the hard left turn of the much of the modern Democratic party, he could find himself constantly on the defensive about his long record in Washington. He voted for the Iraq War. His past tough-on-crime past could haunt him. And he’s got that embarrassing sniffing/kissing/hugging habit.

But on the other hand, what if the universal, hard left turn by virtually every other candidate opens up a center-left superhighway to the nomination? Most of the other candidates are vying for the attention and love of the Online Left, but there’s an entire other Democratic party out there — the majority of the party that doesn’t live on social media. Over at the New York Times, Nate Cohn and Kevin Quealy have put together a fascinating interactive piece that separates the Democratic electorate into two large groups, Democrats on social media and Democrats off social media.....

Today’s Democratic Party is increasingly perceived as dominated by its “woke” left wing. But the views of Democrats on social media often bear little resemblance to those of the wider Democratic electorate. The outspoken group of Democratic-leaning voters on social media is outnumbered, roughly 2 to 1, by the more moderate, more diverse and less educated group of Democrats who typically don’t post political content online, according to data from the Hidden Tribes Project. This latter group has the numbers to decide the Democratic presidential nomination in favor of a relatively moderate establishment favorite, as it has often done in the past.

The statistics are fascinating. Only 29 percent of online Democrats call themselves moderate or conservative compared to 53 percent of offline Democrats. The large majority of offline Democrats think political correctness is a problem. Online Democrats are whiter, more liberal, and more likely to give money to candidates and attend a protest. In other words — and this should shock exactly no one — Twitter users aren’t a representative slice of Democrats as a group.....

The Slimes and the (Com)Post are the two ultimate Establishment Dem mouthpieces, so no doubt that's what the D(e) wants.  However, the party is pretty much dealing with its own Populist uprising just like the GOP(e) did, and they seem to be failing at it even more.  Their witch-hunt ideological purity fetish on s many conflicting causes and interests is a minefield and Joe is too much of a buffoon to navigate it, as well as having too much of a sketchy track record.  If he's the nominee I'd expect the Leftist splinter parties to pull off a substantial chunk of D votes and/or suppress turnout.  But bottom line, I think anyone claiming that a particular one of them is definitely going to get the nod at this point is just being used as a cat's-paw by some D faction.

I don't think that Biden will survive the primaries. It is shaping up to be a blood bath and he has his share of character flaws that will be exploited.

On the other hand, he may be the only candidate with a different viewpoint than the rest. Every time some new socialist platform plank is offered up the current group of traitors all seem to be for it, no matter what "it" is. The primaries could end up being Joe vs. everybody else. At that point, it will be which set of treasonous peons show up to vote in mass. Right now the alt-left voters seem to be making the most noise.
Man’s greatness is so obvious that it can even be deduced from his wretchedness, for what is nature in animals we call wretchedness in man, thus recognizing that, if his nature is today like that of the animals, he must have fallen from some better state which was once his own.

Creepy Joe, at 76, is just too old. Even Reagan wasn't quite 74 when he was elected for his second term.

That point notwithstanding, it's way, way, way too early to call this one. This is just the normal Slimes way of selling copy.

That's the thing about primaries, they bring out the most opinionated and reactive voters, not a cross-section of the people who will vote in November.  The nutbars are therefore likely to have a disproportionate say-so in the outcome.

Anything is possible. I do not think it will be any of them.

It is going to more like progressive than thou.

It is someone you never heard of, likely another Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez type.

How many people heard of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez before she won the primary in 2018?
