OK so I rowed on over to the Dump and went nosing around the insanity island the day after MuellerMas. What did I find? A whole bunch of low post threads such as:
==============================================================================
I've never understood why so many have been praising and worshipping a Republican anyway
Is conspiring with Russia to steal/win the election a crime?
Number of words from the Mueller report the public has seen: 0
=================================================================================
Seems to me the dummies are taking this quite well. I figured they would be on Defcon1, yelling to hit the streets with pitchforks. Maybe they all drunk/drugged themselves into oblivion last nite. Dunno... then I found this huge bonfire:

Could the DU posters who have declared ...
… that Mueller’s report is a “bust”, a “nothing burger”, etc., please enlighten the rest of us as to exactly what the report says? I’d hate to think people are posting such things without knowing what the report actually contains, so perhaps they could provide the facts they’ve learned – along with an explanation of how they are in possession of those facts.
I also wonder why some posters are insisting that Mueller has “exonerated” or “vindicated” Trump. I know that’s what is being said by the usual GOP spokes-whores in the media, but since when do they tell the truth? And more to the point, they don’t know what’s in the report either.
Of course they’re going to spin this into some kind of victory for Trump – just like they do everything else. So why are these bullshitters being taken seriously now, after two years of being proven to have misled the public, or out-and-lied about everything this “pResident” has said and done?
This isn’t over – not by a long-shot. There are ongoing investigations, as we’ve learned from Mueller himself, and Trump and his cabal are far from out of the woods. In fact, because other indictments are probable in jurisdictions where a presidential pardon is not possible, many of them are facing worse jeopardy than they faced from Mueller’s team.
There is also the fact that our newly-elected Democratic majority in the House is only beginning their oversight investigations, and have a much broader mandate than Mueller had. That does not bode well for Spanky & His Gang by any stretch of the imagination.
I find it rather amazing that the fat lady hasn’t even begun to sing, and some here are already fleeing the theatre, having declared her performance a complete failure.
The last sentence says it all. Now keep in mind here.... the fat lady has done taken off her horns and costume, put on her dress made by tents-r-us, and is currently stuffing food down her pie hole at the post aria buffet... and the dummies are so far into denial that they think she hasn't even warmed up.
So lets see what is on their mind...

1. There's more than one fat lady in this show...
...lots to go yet.
I've yet to see more than one fat lady belting out the aria. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

7. The minute he no longer has the protection of that Wh

10. And given everything that's been exposed ...
... about Spanky's business dealings, it's not like he can go back to his old day job.
Even the most corrupt people in the NY real estate biz don't want to deal with someone they know regulators and the IRS are going to be scrutinizing from here on in.
Of course, Spanky is stupid enough to think his buddy Vlad will come through with the Trump Moscow Tower deal - which was never going to happen anyway.
The man is likely to retire after 2024.

37. We do know that several of Trump's team are serving time, many more fled indictment
Mueller's report is just another nail in the coffin, not a catch all. He's done a great job already making the Russian attack public and accountable but this report is not necessary to impeach. As I said further down we have Trump on 3 impeachable offenses already.
Impeachmentmas!!!! Get busy Pislosi!!!! We wanna impeachment and we want it now!!!!

5. They honestly convinced themselves
that Trump and his whole family would be indicted. That this flies in the face of political and legal reality doesn't matter, they were CONVINCED on a very personal, visceral level.
That kind of emotional buy-in exacts a price if it doesn’t come to fruition, and we’re seeing that peculiar bit of psychology playing out in real time.
Interesting screen name. Has to be a mole.

13. Agreed.
And then there are those who have been waiting in the wings to declare Mueller's report a "bust" no matter what it said. I think we're seeing a lot of that going around tonight.

30. We already have Trump on 3 imeachable offenses. Obstruction, Campaign finance violations and
violating the emoluments clause. We must not wait to impeach. More will come after we open impeachment hearings. Pelosi must start holding presidents accountable or history will keep repeating itself and we might lose the House again for refusing to stand up for the law.
Wait for it.....

61. The ultimate consideration
The point of an impeachment is either as a political embassment and distraction (Clinton) or a genuine attempt at removal from office, which would be the case with Trump, since it is impossible to embarrass him, and with his attention span of 30 seconds, he is already incapable of distraction.
Since Trump is immune to the two things Hyde tried to accomplish with Clinton (who left office with a very high approval rating after his Senate exoneration, by the way), the effect of his inevitable exoneration in the Senate would be to allow him to strut like a peacock after the "failed witch hunt" for the rest of his term and vindicate him in the eyes of his Foxsucking followers.
Much as I would like to see him impeached, I only want to see it if there is likelihood of conviction and removal from office (and Pence along with him as soon as Trump is escorted out of 1600). If all it will mean is that he can strut for his last year in office as the Wronged Warrior of the Right, then Pelosi is right: he isn't worth it.

71. Pelosi is text book wrong seeing Nixon didn't have FAUX News, if this is a poltiical matter then we
... have a king every time a republican is in office seeing their poll numbers will never get down to Nixon level because there will be a mouth piece supporting the republican president.
No, that's wrong on its face ... there's no elected king in this country due to them having their own political mouth piece in FAUX News.

75. WOW !! The KGOP has always been up in Russia's ass. Now that the KGOP has a mouth piece Red Dons
... polling will always float 10% above where a despots is supposed to be.

78. I think it was more admiration from afar for a long while
Totalitarian-minded people (Ailes, e.g.) always admire totalitarian regimes that are solidly entrenched in power. In the Nixon era, the Soviet Union seemed like it would last forever.
Republicans may not understand exactly WHY they are so hated, but they are certainly dimly aware of it, and so feel the need to suppress criticism. There are insecurities that need to be assuaged, after all.
The Nixon Republicans knew how much they were despised, and they wanted to turn the tide of public opinion. The easiest way to do that is make sure the public HAS no other opinion than their own. To do that, you need to control the media. Go to some small town where the only TV station you see shown anywhere is Fox "News," and guess how that town votes? It does work.
So the GOP is now totalarian. Who knew?

12. i think mueller handed everthing over to NY for pardon proof state charges
or he's leaving it to DOJ and congress to impeach/remove/indict.
he most certainly has not "exonerated" drumpf. keep in mind he made deals with flynn and cohen for lesser sentences. prosecutors don't make deals unless they are getting something in return.
More denial

19. Not one person was indicted for conspiring with Russia
So....that’s an issue.
Other stuff came up. We know more about how Trump runs his world now. But we always knew he ran his company like the mafia.
Russian Moles are out in force!!!!
Hekate (53,943 posts)
55. What about all those Russians who were indicted? Maria Buttina is in prison last I looked.
Seriously.
So the liitle red head russian cutey pie got diebold to steal the election!!! Who knew!!!!
FBaggins (17,897 posts)
76. It's fairly settled that Russia tried to mess with the election
Chances are pretty good that they’ve been doing so for years.
But without a clear connection to Trump showing that they were part of his campaign strategy? They don’t matter.
Ouch!
This is a huge bonfire. That is all I will bring over for now.
