My aunt died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 55 in 1985. She died only two months after her diagnosis. It was brutal.
Almost exactly a year after her diagnosis I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease. At that time, the docs were able to reassure me that I had a curable form of cancer, and here I am, 32 years later.
No doubt, some progress has been made on treating pancreatic cancer since 1985, but I haven't heard of anyone surviving more than a couple of years, at best.
