DNC sues Russia, Trump campaign and WikiLeaks, alleging conspiracy

The Democratic National Committee is suing the Russian government, the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks, alleging that the three entities conspired to help President Trump win the 2016 election.

The Washington Post reported Friday that the DNC filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit in federal district court in Manhattan.

“During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign,” DNC chairman Tom Perez said in a statement.

“This constituted an act of unprecedented treachery: the campaign of a nominee for President of the United States in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency."

The suit comes months after special counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian groups in his investigation on charges related to interference in the election.

This is such a stupid idea I hope they go forward with it.  The DNC now has to PROVE what their allegations.  There is no universe where this works out well for them.

No matter what the outcome:
1) Trump will still be POTUS
2) Hillary will NEVER be POTUS
3) If they lose or drop the suit, Trump gets to FLAUNT the fact that they CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING
4) When Julian Assange states in court that his source was the murdered DNC staffer, their case against Russia goes to shit
5) It opens up EVERY LETTER that Dead Ted wrote to the Kremlin about a quid pro quo with primarying Carter and/or defeating Reagan, so their treason charge goes away (They can hold to it still, but they'll have to throw away all the current Kennedy clan who are in office)
6) It still depends on Mueller finding something

Cue what Napoleon said about mistakes...

I'll gladly defer to people who actually know about the law in a professional capacity, but my understanding is that for the suit to be accepted to go to trial there has to be actual evidence that there might have been a tort (or contract violation, or ...) and actual damages. Gossip-grade claims and speculations would not pass that test.

So, these idiots paid for a phony dossier to try to defeat Trump. It failed, now they want to sue him and the Russians!!

I would like to see Putin send over some of the KGB and have a talk with perez the clintons and the rest of the DNC :-)

So if Dump does follow through and fires Mueller, he can't stop the lawsuits. He can't stop the Cohen investigation, the inevitable state investigations if he should fire Mueller and now, the civil lawsuits will also pick it up. He has no moves left.

The only "proof" the democrats could credibly claim to have is their "hacked" servers. It seems this suit would open up those servers to discovery by a 3rd party to forensically inspect them since the FBI was never able to.
