I've seen articles about this elsewhere, and DU-folk would
if they understood it, the chronology especially:
* 201?, Russian hackers assaulted the DNC's servers;
* 2014 Dutch intelligence discovered it (but the DNC sysadmins didn't, Obama's CIA didn't, and Obama's FBI didn't);
* June 16, 2015 Donald Trump announced he was running for President;
* July 2015 Dutch intelligence informed Obama's CIA and Obama's FBI and CIA apparently did nothing to block the Russian hackers.
IOW:
> The Russian hackers - whether successful or not in their assaults -
were at it years before Trump's announcement.
> The DNC's sysadmin(s) and Obama's FBI and CIA did not discover the activity.
> The Dutch discovered the Russian hackers' efforts
6-18 months before Trump's announcement.
> The Dutch informed Obama's CIA of the Russians' activities
2-6 weeks after Trump's announcement (had Trump's announcement triggered the Dutch action their response time would have been several hours or a couple of days at most!)> Obama's FBI and CIA apparently did nothing, not even informing DNC sysadmin(s) who apparently remained clueless for another 6-9 months.
So this story says much of the DNC's sysadmins' incompetence and lack of vigilance. This story says much about the incompetence and lack of vigilance of Obama's FBI and CIA. Maybe if Obama's CIA had spent less time screwing with Israeli leadership and self-defense actions and looking for non-existent Russian-Republican ties they might have spotted something as early as the Dutch. Maybe if Obama's FBI had spent less time spying on and pursuing illusory and almost non-existent right-wing bogeymen and harassing municipal police forces they might have spotted something as early as the Dutch. And the leadership of Obama's FBI and CIA should be explaining to Congress why they did nothing about the hacking about which the Dutch informed them.
This story says nothing about Trump's campaign, or even about Trump's existence.
Not that facts matter on DU.
