She has told me of some of the horrible jobs she had to work, like when she was a waitress in a two story restaurant, and the owner kept all the tips. She got minimum wage packing plates up and down stairs, while the customer thought they were tipping her for her hard work, and great service. Sick.
The part about the restaurant owner is plausible. Here in Silicon Valley many owners of a certain type of ethnic restaurant are well known for doing this. Customers who know this furtively slip their server cash, directly.
But what does that part of the
and his wife's supposed degrees have to do with a comment Trump probably did not make?
SeeDooDoo should reflect on why she chose to come to the US.
True , Part 1. I've worked around many people from various countries in Asia for about as long as I've worked in Silicon Valley (nearly 40 years). When I chat with people from other countries, "What brought you to the US?" is a question I often ask, along with things like, "Do you have family around here?" or, "In what part of the valley do you live?" Chit-chat designed to be a start of getting to know them. Usually the response to, "What brought you to the US?" with opportunities here that are not available in the country from which they came.
True , Part 2. My daughter lives in an Asian country, in a major city not many westerners visit. People who speak English are so in demand as tutors that English-speakers could keep so busy doing that - and it is remunerative - that they never manage to learn that country's language. My daughter has done tutoring, but she is there to study the country's language and culture.
IOW, for all Libs & Progs denigrations of the US, people from other countries come here for opportunity and freedom and are willing to work their tails off to learn our crazy language in order to come here. Evidently,
SeeDooDoo's wife is such a person (though the transition from Spanish to English is less difficult than it is for speakers of many East Asian languages).
