Iran hard-liners rally as new protests over economy challenge government

Quote
Pro-government Iranians rallied in Tehran Saturday following spontaneous angry protests in the capital and other major cities over the country’s failure under President Hassan Rouhani to revive the economy.

Many of the marchers carried banners in support of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Sky News reported.

But local media reported that small anti-government protests were continuing around the University of Tehran.

The pro-government rally is a sign of desperation.

The Iranian protests has not been covered in the legacy media.

Iran's protests are powerful and real. Why are mainstream media outlets so hesitant to report on them?

For all the squabbling that social media platforms are notorious for, their relevance to the media landscape plays an important role in times of protest.

This was evident with Black Lives Matter, among other movements. It’s been evident for the past three days in Iran, where thousands have taken to streets and public squares calling for an end to the hardline conservative regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The question that needs to be asked right now is why traditional mainstream media outlets – grandstanding over their importance in this new, bold era of fact-checking and truth-telling – have largely ignored a blossoming revolution.

Crickets from the legacy media.  :mental:

If the MSM reports on this and Trump gets involved and helps throw out the ayatollah and the repressive regime, it will be another feather in his hat and another slap in the face to obama for doing nothing the last time this happened.

obama's line was lead from the rear, ignore problems and say this is the new reality.  Trump on the other hand isd not afraid to take the bull by the horns and at least try to get things done. He is an alpha male leader, and id scares the media and their liberal / progressive followers.
