USA Today - How white nationalists tapped into decades of pent-up racism to spark a movement
Even progressives are sometimes tempted to tap into this racism by catering to anti-immigrant, anti-trade and isolationist rhetoric. How many times have folks on this Board bought into the anti-Globalist chants? Not surprisingly, Russian trolls try to reinforce this here and throughout Europe to promote isolationism.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2017/12/17/how-white-nationalists-tapped-into-decades-pent-up-racism-spark-movement/859455001/

This summer's seemingly overnight arrival of the self-described "alt-right" and white nationalist groups — marked most prominently by a deadly car attack at the August "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Va. — drew worldwide headlines, but the movement simmered for decades before it burst into public view.

Underlying that shift from society's fringes to center stage is a new strategy that taps into the frustrations of white people angry at a society they say has marginalized them and a new political landscape that appears to give voice to their cause.

President Trump’s election last year became a major rallying point for white nationalists, who watched as the Republican repeatedly amplified some of their views in campaign rallies and tweets.

“It just absolutely electrified this community,” Keegan Hankes, an analyst for the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hates groups, including the KKK. “They really felt like they had someone to rally behind.”

1. This, to me, is the most dangerous aspect of Trump's regime.

2. Putin identified the weak underbelly of America and used it to his advantage.

Our racism, violence, fear and hatred, ignorance and naivety.

3. The Real Problem Is The Willingness of Republicans to Oblige...

...even with Dubya, there was some resistance to being obviously racist let alone repeating and amplifying the propaganda spread by the Kremlin. With modern Republicans, they embrace this propaganda as an unreportable campaign contribution. Let the Russians do the dirty work, dump what they find on wikileaks, then use the material early and often.

Put another way, if Republicans did not embrace Russian propaganda, then it would be confined to the fringe. But, with the rise of Brietbart and Infowars, the fringe is now mainstream.

4. There is little daylight between Putin and the GOP. That is why it was so easy

for Putin to steal the presidency and congress.

5. And Trump wanting to eliminate all regulations since 1960...

Mean he wants to nullify civil rights.

Otherwise why would he specify 1960?

DUmmies fail to realize if you don't show your ethnic groups a little love from time to time they will wander.   Trump killed them when he asked the  question "What have the Democrats done for all your votes?"

Meanwhile, the IG is getting ready to clean house at the DOJ and FBI.  Trump won't have to fire Mueller, he will have him indicted. :naughty:

Rush Limbaugh and others have said similar things regarding these "white nationalists".  There are barely enough of them to fill up a phone booth or park bench.  There simply is no mass movement going on.

Giant failure, reaching for silly excuses to blame Trump and the white male.

The communists identified and targeted the weak underbelly of this country a long time ago. They targeted the democrats and the unions.

Almost every single thing the Democrats are for and propose are right in line with the Commie Manifesto.

He does not want to eliminate all regulations since 1960. He wants to get the number of regulations down to the number there were before 1960.

Also, no amount of regulation cutting will nullify civil rights.
