Re Filthy Filner, he left Congress in 2012 to become Mayor of San Diego in 2013. Guess why Filner didn't last a year as Mayor.

1. It says something of Ds' Circle-the-Wagons approach to ethics that DeGette, a D, said nothing at the time. She probably knew that the only effect of a complaint would be to hurt her.

2. Had Filthy Filner not gotten away with God knows how many decades of this kind of crap maybe he wouldn't have gotten the boot by the City of San Diego. Or maybe he would have been un-electable. Either way, a number of women would have been spared his assholery.
