Democrats grumble about costs of Mike Pence's NFL 'stunt'Congressional Democrats are
complaining about the costs to taxpayers of Vice President Mike Pence's decision to fly to an Indianapolis Colts game, and then walk out of the game to protest the decision of some players to kneel at the game.
Pence flew from Las Vegas to Indianapolis, then left the game shortly after arriving after members of the San Francisco 49ers didn't stand for the national anthem. He then flew to Los Angeles.
That had some Democrats, like
Adam Schiff, D-Calif., wondering about the costs.
"After all the scandals involving unnecessarily expensive travel by cabinet secretaries, how much taxpayer money was wasted on this stunt?" Schiff asked on Twitter Sunday.

A
CNN reporter tweeted that Air Force 2 costs about $43,000 an hour to fly, which would put the cost of the flight alone at about $200,000, but that excludes the costs of Secret Service protection.
