<<<wonders what people do in Maine during the night, although I imagine seeing a little gnome in the lobby of a hotel in the semi-darkness the middle of the night might be mind-stopping.

I think I'm out.

Out to lunch, lost my marbles, you know, that kind of out.  Also out of money, gas, work, health and health insurance.  My depression is crushing me today.  The SSI I applied for is unlikely to be won for at least a year.  I can’t work because of my PTSD and back problems, and have been totally broke for over a month.  My disabled girlfriend has been taking care of me and can’t afford to anymore.  My baby sister is sending twenty tomorrow, but it will run out too fast.  There is nothing good on the horizon for me.  My parents have given up.  We were going to move but can’t afford to, my girlfriend and her boy will likely be moving back to ct with her parents, and they cannot afford an extra.

I don’t joke about this kind of shit cause it ain’t funny.  I want to die but lack the nerve to off myself.  Ashamed, humiliated… Feeling more worthless than words can express.  I will likely sell or pawn this tablet shortly, and in a few days be begging on the street or in a shelter.  Things were going great until they weren’t.  Now I am ****ed and this is the only place I feel OK to talk about it.  Pardon the emotional rant, just can’t do this shit anymore.

Or help me.  They tell me that I am lazy and just don’t want to work.  I begged for help a week ago and got a reply that they weren’t throwing their money away.  The gist of it was thatni need to pull myself up by my bootstraps, but I have no boots.  I am completely miserable now and it has even caused issues in my relationship with my really wonderful girlfriend.  Running out of both energy and ideas.

5. David my suggestion may not fit your situation but I will tell you what I did

when I was in that situation to some extent.

First of all apply for what is called general assistance at the welfare office. It is the smallest payment they have and  it will not be much but while you are at it ask for food stamps and medical assistance. Ask them to help you find housing.

I also suggest you ignore your parents – they hold the general theory of most Americans and have no idea of how wrong they are about mental health issues like PTSD and especially in todays economy.

Unfortunately this will probably not work if you live in one of those crazy rw states. But I would try anyhow.

So often, the feeling of being just so overwhelmed by it all – whether or not caused by depression, extreme or prolonged stress, constant physical and/or emotional pain – can paralyze a person – literally – where thinking is not clear or rational, and you cannot physically move one more inch.  I know this – I speak from personal experience.

There may well be services available for you – if I recall, you are in Maine??

I don't think David is working at the motel any more - claims that he's a "dish washer. etc" at Lakeview Restaurant over in Maine.  Two fundraisers at the least for "family" so far this year:

 Yeah, that's what I was wondering.  If he's a combat vet, my feelings are entirely different no matter what his politics.   I'm suffering from PTSD because my wife left me.   :bawl:  Maybe I should go on full disability?

Someone needs to add CR (Combat Related) or SR (Service Related) to the beginning of PTSD so that people know right away which form of PTSD is being talked about- the one from serving in the armed forces or the one from anything else.

One of her friends listed a nasty comment on my gofundme page. I politely asked him to stop and told him I would get a cease harassment order if he did not. But there may be more of that in the future. I am always willing to explain my details honestly and even prove them if necessary. I say that in case someone comes here to attack me. If you can, could you please copy and paste this whole reply message to the poverty group? Still can’t get post bodies through and want everyone to know I am OK.
