Personally, I think blacks voting their skin color - Obama got a larger % of blacks' votes than Ds usually do - were a big factor in BHO being elected President. Obama's % of the black vote fell about 2 percentage points in 2012 what he received 2008, and Hilliary received another 5 percentage points less in 2016 than BHO did in 2012. Also, black turn-out was higher in 2008 and 2012 than in 2016 in Presidential elections before 2008. So I think there was significant disappointment among many blacks that BHO was no better - if not worse - from their POV than previous Presidents.
