2 arrested for hanging Obama effigy on Ky. campus

A University of Kentucky student and another man were arrested Thursday, accused of hanging a life-sized likeness of Barack Obama from a tree on the campus.

The incident was one of several in recent weeks involving effigies of the presidential candidates or their running mates. No charges have been filed in four other cases that have made national headlines.

UK Interim Police Chief Joe Monroe said the men "expressed remorse for a stunt that had gotten out of hand."

Arrested were Joe Fischer, 22, a UK student, and Hunter Bush, 21, both of Lexington. Both were being held at Fayette County Detention Center on charges of disorderly conduct related to the hanging of the effigy. They were also charged with burglary and theft at a fraternity house where police said the materials came from.

Lol this reminds me of something that happened during the GWB administration involving Eddie Veder of Pearl Jam. After he was elected to his 2nd term the left was fit to have a collective stroke. Nothing was off the table. There was even a touring concert called Rock Against Bush.

Well, one night while performing at a venue, Veder brings a Bush mask onstage and sticks it on the microphone like he was impaling a head. Right after that he was getting booed like mad and eventually had to leave the stage when fans started throwing things at him. I swear any other band could have gotten away with that at the time except him.

The moral of the story is, just because you were a big name at one time, it doesn't mean people aren't going to call you out on your bullshit

From the people with whom she hangs out to the causes she's championed to her past political stunts (at which fellow Progs giggled and snickered!), Kathy Griffin is 100% Prog, and the social milieu in which she was joining and to which she was appealing is 100% Prog. It would be much more accurate to say that what KG did is a summation of current Prog "thought" and action. KG did what mainstream Progs wish they could do (and some wish they could do worse!).
