White House: Obama doesn't believe Comey is trying to influence the election

The White House said on Monday that President Barack Obama does not believe that FBI Director James Comey is trying to influence the election with his decision to review new evidence in the probe into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

"The president's assessment of his integrity and his character has not changed," White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters during the daily briefing. "The president does not believe that Director Comey is intentionally trying to influence the outcome of an election. The president does not believe that he is secretly strategizing to benefit one candidate or one political party."

My best guess would be Obama's lackeys have let him in on what the FBI knows so far, and he decided the best place for him is nowhere near it once it detonates.  So, I'd offer up that Obamas angle is self preservation.

That being said, dilweed is a short-timer... he's gone in 3 months. And clintoon, regardless of whats on captain wackies laptop, will never be prosecuted. I have almost zero confidence that a single one of them has the stones to see it through to the end.
Maybe I'm just old and bitter, but I wouldn't make that bet.

That's a guarantee. As for Obama, he has his legacy to think about now. So, the last thing he is going to want is to end it with a scandal. Also remember, the clintons and the Obamas have never been good friends.
