A distressed dog was rescued by firefighters yesterday after it became trapped in a rabbit warren for more than three hours.

Crews from Huntingdon and St Neots were called at 5.50pm to help rescue a dog that had got stuck in underground rabbit warrens on The Common in River Road, Eaton Ford just outside St Neots.

Firefighters were called by the RSPCA after the dog, a Jack Russell mix called Poppy, had been stuck underground for more than an hour.

Rabbits kidnap dogs. Dogs are content with suicide by rabbit.  :mad: :argh:
