PS3 Tech Help
« on: December 11, 2015, 12:33:09 PM »
Alright guys, I have a problem. I just purchased Madden 16 through the PS store, and wanted to download it, right? turns out after formatting utility, and getting everything gone, I still only have 9900 some MB, and it simply isn't enough. I was told by a rep that I need to get a better hard drive, because the current 12gb system I'm rocking simply isn't enough. I'm pretty tech stupid, so I'm asking you guys to help me out. I saved the chat log so you guys could see it. Yes, it was kind of an impulse purchase, but there it is. Once you have read through all of this, could one or more of you give me a "How to increase your hard drive for ****ing morons" easy step guide?  :-) It would be much appreciated. I'm basically at your mercy here.

Mauricio: Hello, My name is Mauricio how may I assist you today?

Me: Hi. Just downloaded Madden 15, but it will not install. Says I don't have enough space.

Me: However, I did format utility, and can only get 9 thousand some total mb out of the 12 GB system I have. How do I rectify this problem?

Me: Madden 16. Sorry.

Mauricio: I'd be happy to look into this for you today Wil.

Mauricio: Before we continue, could you please confirm your:
-First and Last Name on account.
-Sign-In ID (email address)
-Online ID

Me: Revolution2251

Me: xxx xxxxx is my first/last

Me: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx@yahoo.com

Me: Wondering if my 12gb system is even enough.

Mauricio: Thank you for the information. Since you have a 12GB it seems you won't have enough space to download the game with all it's updates.

Mauricio: In order to download an install the game I can advised you to upgrade the hard drive of your console.

Me: How would I go about doing that?

Mauricio: You can follow this link:
https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/Upgrade-the-PS3-Hard-Disk-Drive-HDD/?

Mauricio: And you will find instructions to upgrade your hard drive.

Me: Thank you? Will that incur any cost?

Me: Is there any option at all to refund the $60 bucks I spent on Madden?

Mauricio: It will be just necessary to acquire a hard drive with more capacity. You can check the type of hard drive you need to use and maybe you already have one available.

Me: Hello?

Mauricio: Yes, you will just need to acquire a new hard drive you can install.

Me: But is it possible I can getr a refund for the 60 bucks I spent on Madden 16 mistakenly?

Me: What's your policy on refunds?

Mauricio: Unfortunately we are unable to provide you a refund for this transaction. According to the user agreement all sales are final. We appreciate your understanding.

Mauricio: But don't worry, you will be able to use your game once you have enough space to download it and install it.

Me: That's what I figured. Alright. I'm going to try this. I appreciate your help.

Mauricio: No problem. We appreciate your understanding. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Me: I think I'm good.

Hard disks are pretty inexpensive these days.

But he would lose everything on the old hard drive by installing a new one right?

^ That's fine. I just did a format utility some hours ago anyway in an effort to free up space, so pretty much everything is gone, anyway.

Chris:  :overreaction: Some of that is over my head. Like I said. Tech stupid. Even though it seems pretty straight forward. I have to work in an hour, so I'll see what I can do about getting up tomorrow, and thinking it through. My Madden 16 is saved on the NEtwork, so it isn't like it has to be done right away. Kinda wish I didn't purchase it now though. *kicks stones*

Sounds like I'll have to spend a bit for the new hard drive.

The old hard disk would have to be backed up to a USB drive.

I might too. I've thought about installing one just for the operating system.
