North Carolina outlaws sanctuary cities
« on: November 01, 2015, 01:56:57 PM »
This is great news for NC!!!  Hopefully more red states will follow suit.

Quote
North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory signed a bill into law Wednesday that bans any policy that interferes with the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
The Protect N.C. Workers Act, HB 318, reins in local and municipal policies that disregarded federal law by providing sanctuary or "safe" cities, and public benefits like food stamps, for individuals illegally in the U.S.

Gov. Pat McCrory:
Quote
"We cannot allow our local officials in towns and cities in North Carolina to make up their own rules that conflict with our nation's laws and our nation's values."

Quote
The law also requires public contractors to verify a job applicant's right to work in the country through the Internet-based E-Verify program.

Thanks for the post.  I wasn't aware that NC had sanctuary cities -- silly me!
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

That is such a basic tenet of being a good citizen in this Country, yet how many cities fail to do what is right for the good of this Nation.

Arizona has no sanctuary cities, to the best of my knowledge, and we have used e-Verify for a long time.  However, with rabidly pro-illegal organizations agitating in Phoenix and Tucson, there are probably LOTS of unreported cases where illegals keep on doing their criminal acts without being detected, detained and deported.

The bolded part sounds like it applies to our president as well

:cheersmate: to all except the our president part, Pyro.  That shit stain will never be my president even if he were to make himself Emperor for life by one of his multitudinous executive orders.
