Puerto Rico failing like Greece
« on: June 29, 2015, 10:47:53 PM »
Seems they ran out of other peoples money.

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/puerto-rico-governor-we-cant-let-our-debt-bring-us-n384121

This is the part I liked:

Quote
"We will not permit the heavy weight of inherited debt to bring us to our knees," García Padilla said

Inherited debt? WTF? Your government borrowed that money and now you have to pay it back. That is not inherited debt, dumbass. Inherited debt would be if your dad died owing money and you were on the hook to pay it. Your debt was the result of your past elected politicians borrowing money. Now you got to pay it back and you don't want to.

Another pet peeve of mine is why is Puerto Rico still a commonwealth? They obviously do not want to become a state, voted it down several times, so cut them free.

This is the US in about 3 decades.

Here is the one that gets me:
Quote
"This is the moment we call for concerted action from Washington, in a single voice, now. Action so they will approve changes to Chapter 9 (of the U.S. bankruptcy code) so Puerto Rico has the same protection as other jurisdictions," he said.

I agree, they dont want to be a state and all the responsibilities that come with it. Then they dont deserve fhe protections that the States get either. So don't come whining to the US to bail you out.

There have been several announcements from economic "gurus"  that are indicating that the beginning of July is when the global economy is going to start to tumble.  Perhaps not July, but I think we are getting darn close.  As the article below states, we really need to consider what happened to Detroit and other major cities that are following; combine this with the racial tension brewing and you have a recipe for complete economic AND social chaos in this country courtesy of Barry.  Also consider that China has been pushing for the yuan to be the world currency but they have been building "empty" real estate to prop up their economy.  Two of the largest economies teetering doesn't look to promising globally.

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

I'm glad I got to Rhodes (site of 1 of the seven wonders of the ancient world) while I was in the military decades ago.
I wouldn't go there now on a dare.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

PR is just a big welfare state. They are like Greece, we are the EU in this scenario - able to bail them out but they'll just screw it up again.

Well I guess the democrat candidate has 37% of the vote locked up.

Illinois announced that they are heading for a State Government shutdown due to their debt.  Liberalism hasn't worked, isn't working and won't work!!   :hammer:

Somehow the attempt will be made to blame it all on conservatives.
Just like in Detroit.
That city that has had nothing but ultra lib leadership at every turn for decades.

Very true and of course it will give the citizens a reason to riot. Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Missouri...who's next?  This summer is going to be a "scorcher".

Every time the local paper posts an article on Facebook about the Illinois budget mess, the libs are out in full force blaming the gop governor for everything. He took office in January, but it's all his fault. Those same idiots still blame President Bush and think Obama is doing great.

Yep, and those are the same a**holes that will vote for Sanders or Hillary unless we nominate a true conservative with a clear message and defines a pathway to restore America.

I think Donald Trump is a clown.....but the Clown is the only one saying anything like I want to hear.

Trump is doing for Conservatives what Bernie Sanders is doing for socialists.  He's driving the debate in a direction the party elite would rather not see it go.
