Greetings and Salutations from NYC
« on: February 27, 2015, 03:08:10 AM »
Hey everyone, I just signed up last night and here I am. I am 39 years old and dwell in the forgotten borough of New York City known as Staten Island. I work as a computer specialist/network engineer for the MTA, otherwise known as New York City Transit. No, it's not my fault your train was late.

I was politically ignorant for many years so there are still things I am delving deeper into.  No, that did not mean I was liberal. I just chose to ignore politics. Given the current state of politics, I'm still not sure why I started paying attention.  It is certainly frustrating. Even though there are a few things I cross the aisle for, I am basically a libertarian conservative. If you want to know what, feel free to ask. I consider myself pretty rational and open-minded so my opinion is just that, an opinion and capable of being changed.

My username is not a reference to being a progressive/liberal. It's a nod to my favorite genre of music, progressive rock.

That being said, I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Welcome.

What's your stance on net neutrality? FCC's plunge into the internet? Since you're an IT guy, you might have some insight for the masses.

Welcome !

I pretty much ignored politics until..........I got a better job, got married, bought a house, THEN started wondering why there are so MANY taxes to pay. Everybody, it seemed, wanted a part of MY PAYCHECK.

Welcome to the Cave Prog Snob.
Glad to have you aboard.
I hope your stay is long and prosperous.
My handle has some close similarities to yours.
If you catch me in an effusive mood I'll expound.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
