My son-in-law is Mexican. His family has been in TX longer than there has been a TX. With his work he still travels to Mexico several times a year, and his parents retired there. My point is: He knows what Mexican Spanish sounds like.
He and my daughter tell me they are running into more and more Middle Eastern looking people who speak a Mexican or Central American dialect of Spanish and working in food service, etc.
Something I've expected, and I've seen discussed as expected on this forum.
