Francis Expects Short Papacy
« on: March 13, 2015, 11:48:52 AM »
Pope Francis has marked the second anniversary of his election as the leader of the Roman Catholic church by saying he has a feeling that his pontificate will be a short one, lasting perhaps about four or five years.

A generally interesting interview with a man who is changing minds of Catholics and others around the world. Even hinting that he might do as Benedict did – step down and let another take his place.

I saw coverage of this story.
I'm not sure about the tradition.
But I believe the term of a Pope is for life.
That would make sense to me.
The Pope is God's direct representative on earth.
It doesn't make sense that there could be more than one.
Or even a current and former.

If the prophecies of St. Malachi are right, I expect it will be pretty short and end badly.  However, it's more likely that since the Popes are all pretty much older than dirt when they are elected by the Cardinals now, a long Papacy isn't in the cards from the git-go.

The long Papacies of Paul VI and John Paul II are what many will think of, but they were exceptional. In some centuries being Pope was a ticket to an involuntarily abbreviated lifespan.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

The Vatican has spoken out against islam.
We need more religious leaders speaking the truth...

Openly and fearlessly.
